The Cleveland Browns have signed quarterback Robert Griffin III, the team announced Thursday. Griffin’s contract is for two years and $15 million, and can be worth up to $22 million including incentives, reports USA Today’s Tom Pelissero.

Robert Griffin III is saying goodbye to the Washington Redskins. Four years after signing a $21.1million four-year contract with the team, that came with a $13.8million signing bonus, Griffin was seen cleaning out his locker for the final time following the Redskins loss to the Green Bay Packers in the first round of the playoffs on Sunday. It was a difficult four years for Griffin, who after a stellar rookie season faltered in his second year and was replaced by Kirk Cousins, never returning to his post as starting quarterback.
  • RG3 gets roughed up again, suffers possible concussion

The Redskins have plenty of work to do. The offensive line, specifically pass protection, would be a good place to start. Robert Griffin III and the Redskins starters managed 10 total yards on their first three series of Thursday night’s preseason game vs. the Lions. On the fourth series, Griffin got sacked on consecutive plays. On the second sack, his fumble was recovered by Gabe Wright of the Lions at the Redskins’ 11-yard line. To make matters worse, the Redskins announced Griffin was then evaluated for a right-side stinger and possible concussion. He was cleared to return to the game...

The Rams shut out the 'Skins 24-0 today, but St. Louis head coach Jeff Fisher punked Washington before the game even started. Remember when Washington traded up in the 2012 draft to get Robert Griffin III? Oh, Fisher remembers.
  • DeSean Jackson signing risky at best

Forget for one minute all the recent questions about DeSean Jackson's life off the field, the most scandalous of which have yet to be substantiated. Let's also not spend much time debating the arrogance that led Philadelphia Eagles head coach Chip Kelly to believe his offense didn't need its best wide receiver anymore. The most interesting aspect of Jackson's new three-year deal with the Washington Redskins has little to do with those things. Instead, it has everything to do with a franchise that has been largely dysfunctional ever since Daniel Snyder purchased it in 1999. Anybody who thinks Jackson's arrival...
  • Mike Shanahan was reportedly ready to quit because of Daniel Snyder’s favoritism

Mike Shanahan was reportedly ready to quit because of Daniel Snyder’s favoritism of Robert Griffin III The Washington Redskins are an absolute mess right now, with every day bringing a leaked story of discontent to top the previous one. Here's a pretty wild one: Coach Mike Shanahan reportedly had cleaned out his office before last season's wild-card game against Seattle because he was ready to quit as soon as the season ended. Why was Shanahan ready to go? Because of owner Daniel Snyder's coddling of quarterback Robert Griffin III. That report comes from ESPN.com. A team spokesman in the story...
  • RG III Gets 'Uncle Tom' Treatment

To a black ESPN sports analyst, this is the critical question: Is Robert Griffin III, aka RG III, the black rookie sensation Washington Redskins quarterback, "a brother, or is he a cornball brother?" What has RG III done or said to raise a suspicion about his bona fides as a black person? More importantly, what does this have to do with appreciating -- or choosing not to appreciate -- Griffin as an athlete? Turns out RG III fancies himself as a quarterback who happens to be black -- as opposed to a black quarterback. When asked for the millionth time...
  • ESPN Analyst Calls RGIII a ‘Cornball Brother’ Because He May Be a Republican

Robert Griffin III is arguably the most popular man in Washington right now. The Redskins’ spectacular rookie quarterback has been winning games, fans, and headlines due to his play this season. Today, he was on the front page of the Washington Post for the third time in a week and a half. Under increasing media scrutiny, Griffin has been clear he does not want to be defined by his race. In a news conference yesterday cited in USA Today, Griffin, an African-American, said, “For me, you don’t ever want to be defined by the color of your skin. You want...
  • ESPN COMMENTATOR: RGIII A 'CORNBALL BROTHER' DUE TO POSSIBLE REPUBLICANISM

ESPN’s Rob Parker dropped a bombshell today when he called NFL rookie star and MVP candidate Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III a “cornball brother.” That means, according to Parker, that RGIII isn’t a real black person, and that he might not be “one of us” or “down for the cause.” What was his justification? RGIII is engaged to a white woman, and could be a Republican. Seriously. ( video at link )
