Mike Shanahan was reportedly ready to quit because of Daniel Snyders favoritism of Robert Griffin III
The Washington Redskins are an absolute mess right now, with every day bringing a leaked story of discontent to top the previous one.
Here's a pretty wild one: Coach Mike Shanahan reportedly had cleaned out his office before last season's wild-card game against Seattle because he was ready to quit as soon as the season ended. Why was Shanahan ready to go? Because of owner Daniel Snyder's coddling of quarterback Robert Griffin III.
That report comes from ESPN.com. A team spokesman in the story is quoted as saying the report is "ridiculous." Shanahan declined comment when asked by ESPN. ESPN's Adam Schefter and Chris Mortensen discussed the report on the network's pregame show and didn't mention the caveat that the Redskins said it was ridiculous, via Pro Football Talk.

With all due respect this story pales in comparison to the Snow Bowl taking place right now between the Lions and Eagles.
Ahhhh— Football the way it used to be.
Effin’ Espn.
I am enjoying the heck out of Lions-Eagles.
Owners getting involved is always a bad idea. But NFL coaches are crazy in their dealing with QB’s these days. How do they ever expect to develop good QBs when they replace QBs after they have a couple bad games. Sounds like Shanahan is kind of a primadonna.
The only thing missing are the refs dressed up as santas and elves and the players taken off the field on sleighs.
SO UNCLE, WHY DID YOU TAKE THE TIME TO READ AND POST?
Chiefs 31 Redskins 0 with just under 40 minutes to go.
I would like to see how many watched this game. And GD it, the snow is letting up now.
Red Potato-skins flailing?
One superstar QB cannot fix the skins problems and the skins made a big mistake in giving as much as they did for RG3. After getting rid of Cerrato, the skins had pretty nearly zilch to show for 15 yeas of drafting. It’l take at least six or seven years to build their way out of that and they should be using high draft picks for linemen.
CONCERN FOR MY FELLOW FAN AND I CAN MULTITASK.
Stadium is half empty. Wow.
Shanahan might be ready to go after today’s game, 38-10 at the half.
I don’t really care about football, but here in northern Colorado, where it’s all Broncos, all the time, Shanahan always seemed like a pretty straight-up guy.
I agree. He hasn’t won a lot without Elway, but I stil respect him.
Just hope that the Eagles fans don’t throw snowballs at Santa Claus today like they did back in 1968. Santa got mad and gave the Eagles Leroy Keyes instead of OJ Simpson in the 1969 NFL draft.
Grew up in the same neighborhood as Shanahan, know many who were/are close to him, he is a really decent man.
