At the start of the year, I told a friend to keep an eye on Mike Huckabee. He just had the look of a man running for president. After all, didn't Ronald Reagan write columns and do radio commentaries before running?Last month, I was very happy to hear that Mitt Romney was considering another run. Frankly, I think that he is one of the most qualified people ever denied the presidency. Let me add another one - Governor Rick Perry of Texas. We didn't see the real Perry in 2012 but we are seeing him now. Over the last few...

exas Gov. Rick Perry slammed President Barack Obama on Fox News Sunday, once again demanding the National Guard, and called on Obama to stop the blame game and get up and lead. Host Brit Hume asked Perry to explain why he wants the National Guard sent to Texas, inquiring skeptically, “What exactly would National Guardsman and women do on the border?” Perry explained that the National Guard acts as a front-line deterrent for illegal immigrants, and is critically important now, because most border patrol agents are stuck taking care of the illegal immigrant children. “The president was not even aware...

Texas Gov. Rick Perry on Friday said that Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) was “curiously blind” to the dangers posed by the terrorist group responsible for the security meltdown in Iraq. The war of words marks the opening of a new chapter of hostilities between the two lawmakers as they weigh presidential bids in 2016. In an opinion piece in the Washington Post, Perry said he found it “disheartening” the senator would “suggest that our nation should ignore what’s happening in Iraq.” …

We know this is a planned invasion... But Boehner (Boner) has beat the drum of 'Obama does not uphold or enforce the law." Hint hint: Obama really, truly doesn't... But... The William Wilberforce Trafficking Victims Protection Reauthorization Act Of 2008 will either be "upheld" and "enforced" by Obama - or it won't. Under it, certain children under this Act are placed under the care of the Dept of Health and Human Services, are given the least restrictive environment, are given an attorney and can plead their case before a judge to stay in the U.S. And GWB signed this into...

ABC's Jonathan Karl on Tuesday asked White House press secretary why the letter from the White House to Gov. Rick Perry (R-TX) inviting him to a meeting with President Obama regarding the Texas border crisis was from Valerie Jarrett. While it's routine for staff to draft such letters for elected officials, matters of such magnitude and to other elected officials of stature are almost always in the name of the principle. The president's spokesman, when asked why the letter was from Jarrett rather than the President, said "Valerie spends a lot of time maintaining relationships with governors around the country"...

As the political war over minors crossing the border continues to escalate, Texas Governor Rick Perry met with President Obama yesterday and demanded that he beef up border patrols and seek changes to federal law that would expedite the removal of arriving minors. For his part, Obama prodded Perry to rally Congressional Republicans to pass the $3.7 billion in funding to expedite removals and provide care the president has asked for.

Call it Blind Optics. The DUmmies and KOmmies are so desperate to make Texas Governor Rick Perry look bad that they overlook the fact that Obama looks horrible in the photos above and below. These photos were taken by Reuters during the B order Crises meeting yesterday. Normally the Regime would have prohibited these pics of Obama not taking the border crises seriously but apparently they have the same narrow mindset as the DUmmies and KOmmies because they focused in on Perry looking upset and thought that was a "win" for them. Actually it is turning into a bigtime...

Obama arrived at DFW airport for his fundraising and was met by Gov. Rick Perry and they entered Marine One for a 10 minute ride to Love Field.

With legions worldwide still trying to find the real Barack Hussein Obama, Texas Governor Rick Perry yesterday unwittingly proved who BHO really is. Obama is Valerie Jarrett and Valerie Jarrett is Obama, one and the same.

Don’t call him Chris Christie. Republican Texas Gov. Rick Perry refused to greet President Barack Obama at a tarmac photo-op this week, and instead challenged Obama to hold a “substantive meeting” with him to discuss the illegal immigration crisis currently engulfing states along the U.S.-Mexico border. The White House requested that Perry meet Obama on the tarmac Wednesday as he gets off Air Force One on his way to Democratic fundraisers in Texas, which could have created another tableau like the “Chris Christie hug” during Superstorm Sandy, which helped Obama in the 2012 election. But Perry wasn’t having it. Read...

Illegal Immigration: Texas Gov. Rick Perry states the obvious when he suggests that the flood of alien children coming to the U.S. from Latin America just might be a result of "ulterior motives" on the part of President Obama. Obama is like an arsonist who sets fires to help rescue people from burning buildings. He's asked Congress for $2 billion to deal with a child refugee crisis of his own making, money that could have gone to seal the border instead of having Border Patrol agents acting as glorified baby-sitters by cooking, cleaning and even doing laundry. A little-noted University...

President Barack Obama has offered to meet Texas Governor Rick Perry to discuss the border crisis during a visit to Texas after the governor declined a brief meeting when the president arrives in Austin, the White House confirmed on Tuesday. "The president would welcome a meeting with you while he is in Texas," White House aide Valerie Jarrett wrote to Perry. Jarrett also invited Perry to participate in a session to discuss the border situation with local faith leaders and elected officials in Dallas on Wednesday that has been added to president's schedule. Jarrett's letter, dated Monday, was first reported...

FULL TITLE: Rick Perry Rejects Obama’s Offer to Shake His Hand on the Tarmac — Here’s the Texas Governor’s Counteroffer Texas Gov. Rick Perry (R) has reportedly rejected President Barack Obama’s offer to briefly shake hands when Air Force One lands in Austin on Wednesday. Instead, the governor came back with a counteroffer. “I appreciate the offer to greet you at Austin-Bergstrom Airport, but a quick handshake on the tarmac will not allow for a thoughtful discussion regarding the humanitarian and national security crises enveloping the Rio Grande Valley in South Texas,” Perry wrote in a letter to Obama. “I...

Some of Texas' moderate Republicans say the state's far-right turn since Sen. Ted Cruz's political ascendancy could have unintended consequences. At a breakfast in Washington’s St. Regis Hotel in June, Texas Gov. Rick Perry, R-Texas, took a moment to gather his thoughts before he was ready to answer a question about how junior Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, had changed his home state. “Texas is pretty big and pretty diverse,” Perry said peering intently through his black horn-rimmed glasses. “I’m not sure one person has the ability to change all of that.” A few seconds later, he clarified exactly where he think...

WASHINGTON -- Texas Gov. Rick Perry (R) is not backing away from a conspiracy theory he recently floated about the Obama administration somehow coordinating the surge of immigrants coming over the border for some unknown reason. Perry recently suggested on Fox News that the Obama administration might be "in on this somehow" and helping move immigrants over the border. Asked about that statement on Sunday, Perry didn't back away. "I have to believe that when you do not respond in any way, that you are either inept, or you have some ulterior motive of which you are functioning from," Perry...

Rep. Eric Swalwell, D-Calif., and Republican Texas Gov. Rick Perry faced off Thursday at a House Homeland Security Committee field hearing in McAllen, Texas, on the crisis at the U.S.-Mexico border. There's no question there's a crisis. In 2011, some 4,000 unaccompanied children were caught after crossing into the United States. In 2012, the number rose to more than 13,000 children. Last year, that number hit 38,759; and already this year, the toll exceeds 52,000, with most minors coming from Guatemala, Honduras and El Salvador. Not all of the kids make it. Interim Hidalgo County Sheriff Eddie Guerra ticked off...

Texas governor Rick Perry amplified his criticism of the Obama administration's handling of the ongoing immigration crisis in south Texas Sunday morning, saying that administration officials "either are inept or don't care." Perry explained that he'd warned the Obama administration two years ago about the increase in unaccompanied minors arriving at the Texas border. The situation unfolding now is a "failure of diplomacy, it is a failure of leadership from the administration in Washington, D.C.," he said. Perry referenced his 2010 request for National Guard troops to protect the border and allow the Border Patrol to train more agents. He...

Perry Asks for 1,000 National Guard Troops Until 3,000 New Border Patrol Agents Are Trained; Texas Has Fewer Agents Than Any Other Border State. Texas Republican Gov. Rick Perry told members of the U.S. Homeland Security Committee Thursday afternoon that the illegal immigrants who've flooded the border since October must be sent back home. Perry told committee members who toured a facility in McAllen and other centers in the state, where immigrants are being housed temporarily, that returning the children and adults who are entering the U.S. illegally will send a message to others to not embark on the dangerous...

Texas Gov. Rick Perry said Wednesday that President Barack Obama must visit the Texas southern border to see the immigration crisis for himself. “If he doesn’t come to the border, I think it’s a real reflection of his lack of concern of what’s really going on there,” Perry said on FOX News’ “FOX and Friends,” noting that Obama is planning to be in Texas next week for fundraisers. “If the President of the United States is really serious about securing that border, we can show him how to do that,” Perry added. “But I haven’t even had a phone call...
