Two of the three men found shot to death on a Cobb County golf course last weekend had been bound and gagged with tape before being placed in the bed of a pickup truck, according to warrants made public Friday morning. Bryan Rhoden, 23, was arrested Thursday after being identified as the “lone shooter” in the bizarre triple homicide at an affluent Kennesaw-area country club over the Fourth of July weekend.

The gruesome findings emerged as investigators reportedly examined a potential Mexican drug cartel connection for the executions on properties used for marijuana growing operations. Local station 10TV, citing anonymous law enforcement sources, said authorities are examining whether a cartel turf war or family feud sparked the slaughter of eight members of the Rhoden family. The victims — seven adults and a 16-year-old — had gunshot wounds to...

The youngest of the eight Ohio family members found slain in execution-style murders last week received a threat on Facebook before the mass killings, Ohio's attorney general said Monday. ADVERTISEMENT Christopher Rhoden Jr., a 16-year-old freshman at Piketon High School, was the subject of the threat, CBS News reported. "I'm aware of the Facebook threat," Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine said. "Every piece of information is valuable and our investigators are certainly taking that into consideration." The threat is just one emerging piece of evidence in the investigation, which has also uncovered cockfighting chickens and a marijuana growing operation at...

Seven victims are adults, and one victim was a 16-year-old male, DeWine said in a Friday afternoon news conference. DeWine said that the victims were shot "execution-style." NORMALLY, Monday is one of the great days of the N.C.A.A. tournament. People are buzzing — about upsets and surprises, great performances and flops. But this Monday comes after the most unsettling four days I've experienced in 17 years of covering the tournament. The lingering images are not buzzer-beaters — and there were many — but news flashes: images of soldiers exchanging fire, buildings being demolished, lives altered and lost. The N.C.A.A. tournament is one of the great sporting events of the year, but this tournament should have been canceled.
