Beverage giant Anheuser-Busch InBev announced it will lay off hundreds of corporate employees as sales of its flagship lager Bud Light falter. In a statement to CNBC on Thursday, a company spokesperson said the job cuts affect less than 2% of U.S. employees. Anheuser-Busch has about 18,000 employees nationwide. The layoffs will include about 350 of those people. The company said it will cut positions across every corporate function. Anheuser-Busch added the changes will “simplify and reduce layers within its organization.” The layoffs will not affect employees such as brewery and warehouse staff, drivers and field salespeople, among others, the...

Buffalo Bills safety Damar Hamlin has been medically cleared to play football again after experiencing cardiac arrest during a game last season, the NFL team announced. Brandon Beane, the team’s general manager, made the announcement on Tuesday, saying the second-year player met with three specialists during the offseason, and they came to an agreement he cleared the necessary protocols. “They’re all in lockstep of what this was and that he has cleared to resume full activities, just like anyone else who was coming back from an injury or whatever,” Beane said during a press conference. “So he’s … he’s fully...

A report from Business.com finds that there is discrimination against “non-binary” people. At least, non-binary people believe there is discrimination. “Over 80% of nonbinary people believe that identifying as nonbinary would hurt their job search,” the report finds. Also, 51% believe their gender identity has “affected their workplace experience.”Business.com sent out two identical “phantom” resumes to “180 unique job postings that were explicitly open to entry-level candidates” in an effort to test “whether or not the inclusion of gender-neutral pronouns impacts how employers perceive resumes.”“Both featured a gender-ambiguous name, ‘Taylor Williams.’ The only difference between the test and control resumes...

It doesn’t matter if George Santos is the lowliest of low-lifes. And the people who elected and warmly welcomed to the Senate John Fetterman certainly don’t get to act like it does.A few nerds (sometimes referred to as “journalists”) were on standby over the past few days, waiting for New York Republican Representative-elect George Santos to explain why there was no evidence of the sterling educational background and work history that he professed to have during his 2022 campaign for Congress. The predictable and underwhelming answer is that he lied about it and no, he doesn’t plan to resign.Where is...

You will not be shocked at the news that people running for federal office have often “fudged” their resumes, pretending to have accomplished things or been places that they’ve never done or never been. Voters, if they support that candidate, tend to shrug their shoulders and look the other way. But what should we do with Representative-elect George Santos of New York? Santos has lied about more than where he worked or where he went to school. George Santos has created an entirely new human being in such glorious and wondrous detail that it took five a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2022/12/19/nyregion/george-santos-ny-republicans.html" target="_blank">New York...

San Jose is now the largest city in the state to require its employees and visitors of events at city-owned venues to show proof of a COVID-19 booster shot. The City Council voted unanimously Tuesday to impose a new mandate requiring city workers and visitors of city-owned facilities, such as the SAP Center and San Jose McEnery Convention Center, to get boosted or show proof of a negative test before entry. The new law goes into effect immediately, but facilities have until Feb. 4 to implement the rule. Thanks, Council colleagues for approving my proposal to require boosters for City workers+the public...

Hunter Biden profited from his father’s political connections long before he struck questionable deals in countries where Joe Biden was undertaking diplomatic missions as vice president. In fact, virtually all the jobs listed on his resume going back to his first position out of college, which paid a six-figure salary, came courtesy of the former six-term senator’s donors, lobbyists and allies, a RealClearInvestigations examination has found. One document reviewed by RCI reveals that a Biden associate admitted “finding employment” for Hunter Biden specifically as a special favor to his father, then a Senate leader running for president. He secured a...

What does it take to get ahead in today's world? If I were a young person entering politics, I'd be looking for the best résumé-enhancers, to see what sort of qualifications and accomplishments are shared by those "getting ahead" in today's political arena. Who are all these people getting ahead, and how are they doing it? After serving as a Chicago community organizer and Illinois state senator, Barack Obama rose from a pedestrian three years as a U.S. senator to become the 44th president of the United States. Coming out of a corrupt city and a corrupt state with corrupt...

In a detailed statement about the experience, which he described as bewildering and intimidating at times, Malloch said the federal...

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The U.S. Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court has ruled the National Security Agency may temporarily resume its bulk collection of Americans' domestic phone call records, the New York Times reported on Tuesday. The program lapsed on June 1, when Section 215 of the Patriot Act expired. Congress revived that provision the following day with a bill called the Freedom Act, which said the provision could only be used for bulk collection for six months.

A die-hard Hillary Clinton supporter – a young, female Millennial – recently applied to be a fellow with the campaign and was accepted. However, she was asked to move out of state and work for free. It was hard not to laugh at her over-the-top, entitled millennial reaction published in USA Today: “Finding out that Hillary perpetuates the exploitation known as unpaid internships was like discovering that Santa wasn't real.” Poor baby. Millennials are in a tough position right now. They are hard pressed to find work, with 14% of them unemployed, others barely able to make it on a...

According to her resume, Democratic gubernatorial candidate Mary Burke spent 1994 and some of 1995 working as the “Administrator” of the non-profit trade group Bicycle Industry Organization (BIO). However, an IRS document shows an address for the trade group that also happens to be a home formerly owned by Burke – a home that was purchased at least seven months after Burke claims she left BIO. According to Burke’s resume, Burke left BIO in 1995 and that same year returned to Trek Bicycle – her family’s business – as Director of Forecasting and Strategic Planning. According to a Dan Bice...

MADISON, Wis. — Mary Burke’s resume, much like the Democratic candidate for governor, has gone through a lot of changes — particularly during the course of her campaign. And some new tax records obtained by Wisconsin Reporter beg more questions about Burke’s shifting employment record. Burke is running against incumbent Republican Gov. Scott Walker in next month’s election. There is “no record” of Mary Burke on Wisconsin’s income tax rolls in 1988. That’s peculiar because Burke did pay $3,514 in 1987, and $3,750 in income taxes in 1989, according to a document from the state Department of Revenue’s Central Tax...
