WASHINGTON – So far, House Democratic leaders haven't publicly demanded Rep. Anthony Weiner resign after admitting he sent suggestive photos of himself in his underwear via Twitter and then lied about it to everyone within earshot. But they've made it clear they'd appreciate it if he'd go away. And soon.

Weiner's thinly-veiled BS isn't fooling anybody... Rep Anthony Weiner's previous claims of victimhood at the hands of "hackers" is crumbling fast. The first thing I asked when Weinergate the story broke is "can't they track this stuff to the "hacker's" ISP or something?". The truth is all Weiner ever had to do was report it to the FBI and the subpoena would be issued to Twitter promptly... so what you waiting for, Weinerdude? Fortunately for the cause of truth and justice, TweetCongress.org's archives can accomplish something close to that, as The Daily has now deduced: turns out the infamous bulging-briefs shot was sent from...

Nevada Sen. John Ensign (R) plans to announce Friday he will resign his Senate seat, aides said Thursday. Late last week during a debate in Parliament, Thailand’s Prime Minister Abhisit Vejajjiva publically admitted his dual citizenship for the first time. The 46 year-old Thai/British citizen has been prime minister since December of 2008 (the youngest prime minister in nearly 60 years) after a political career that began with his election to Parliament at the youthful age of 27. Until last week Abhisit had successfully concealed his British citizenship.

President Obama bid farewell on Friday to Robert Gibbs, one of his first aides and closest friends, with a parting tribute to his press secretary’s fashion sense. Obama finally returned the light blue tie he borrowed from Gibbs to wear at the 2004 Democratic National Convention — locked in a glass frame for posterity. "I wanted this on the record, on camera," Obama said. "I'm finally returning Robert's tie." Gibbs’s signature pastel-colored clothing has long occupied the fashion pages of Washington papers, but now the president has confirmed that the baby-blue tie won the approval of the first lady and...

At today's CPAC conference, Idaho's Raul Labrador decided to lighten the mood with a joke or two. They say knowing one's audience is the mark of a good comedian so, judging from the applause he garnered for his "birther" joke, we think Labrador might have a bright future in improv. Originally from Puerto Rico, Labrador joked that, yes, he is an American citizen by birth and he even has the birth ......posted using frpa

While our nation languishes amidst record food and energy prices, unprecedented underemployment (including those excluded from the workforce) and economic stagnation, crippling regulations, and an administration in contempt of two court decisions, the media would rather distract us with the Islamist uprising in Egypt. It is imperative that we keep up the pressure on Obama and the Democrats by denying them the opportunity to preclude our attention from more relevant and ominous domestic problems. On the other hand, there is one salient question that we should excogitate from Obama's handling of the Egyptian insurgency. If Obama is willing to listen...

Assange Says Obama 'Must Resign' Forget Hillary. Assange is now going after the man on top. In an interview on Sunday, the WikiLeaks founder said U.S. President Barack Obama should resign if it can be shown that he approved spying by the country's diplomatic figures on UN officials. "The order is so serious it may well have been put to the President for approval," Assange told Spanish daily El Pais in an online chat published online. "Obama must answer what he knew about this illegal order and when.” (via AFP)

The calls have begun for Attorney General Eric H. Holder Jr.'s resignation. Potential Republican presidential candidates Newt Gingrich and Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty both took that position last weekend in response to last week's embarrassing result in the trial of Guantanamo terrorist detainee Ahmed Khalfan Ghailiani. Mr. Gingrich and Mr. Pawlenty won't be the only prominent politicos reaching the conclusion that Mr. Holder is unfit for the office he holds.

In the wake of historic midterm losses, people wondered whether Barack Obama would be willing or even able to execute a shift to the center and work with Republicans in the House to find areas of common ground on policy, or whether he would shift to regulatory innovation to push his agenda. Most people guessed the latter, but a personnel change yesterday at EPA may suggest that the White House is looking for olive branches rather than bureaucratic warfare. Lisa Heinzerling, an advocate for aggressive regulatory expansion to combat global warming, has resigned: One of the Obama administrationÂ’s most aggressive...

Kass: Mayor O’Bama? Yes he can! Take that executive experience and bring it home to Chicago John Kass November 5, 2010 Those Republicans aren’t done giving our president a shellacking, and now the Washington media is urging him to reveal his “feelings,” hoping he’ll squirt a few tears for the cameras. So there’s only one thing for President Barack Obama to do: Quit. Yes, quit. Obama should return from India — after paying that whopping Taj Mahal Palace hotel bill for his entourage out of his own pocket — and resign the presidency immediately. Then he can come home and...

Please read Mel Smith's posts on "Barack Obama Should Resign" and encourage others to join that group. I realize that many of us expect a more just fate for Mr. Obama than simply allowing him to resign, so we'll still have to press for criminal investigations to address all the other matters. (Even an impeachment is not a criminal prosecution.) And though Obama is too much of a megalomaniac to actually resign, the point is to send a message to our fellow citizens and the media. We could make this group one million strong in 2011 if we spread the...

The news just becomes more and more outrageous. America is floundering, America is sinking, his advisers are quitting, his poll numbers are tanking, while he parties on Martha's Vineyard for $50,000 a week. Have we ever had a president who parties nine times in barely half a year, and spends $50,000 a week? The people are hurting. The working classes hurting. People who struggle, and try hard, and pay taxes, can't find jobs. The false unemployment number of 9.5% is double what George Bush had, and that was called "the worst economy ever". The true U6 number is 17% --...

This is probably futile, but those of you who use Facebook please join "Barack Obama Should Resign".Maybe enough people will join to send a message to Congress and the media. That is not supposed to be a bash Obama site. Links to other sites can be posted there instead. The focus is on encouraging a constructive non-partisan movement to encourage Barack Obama to resign, if only to avoid the costly distraction that will be caused by his eventual impeachment. Please spread the word to others.

Q: Will Barack Obama be a one-term president? A: Yes, he might last that long. Honest to goodness, the man just does not get it. He might be forced to pull a Palin and resign before his first term is over. He could go off and write his memoirs and build his presidential library. (Both would be half-size, of course.)
