Newt Gingrich:“We are drifting towards the greatest constitutional crisis since the 1850’s and the rise of secession and civil war,” he said on Fox News. “I don’t mean that as hyperbole.” “What you are seeing across the country is a desperate, last ditch effort by a corrupt machine to destroy their most dangerous opponent in a way that not only breaks the constitution, destroys the rule of law and establishes a moment of bitterness which I think will last for a generation or more" “This is going to be a horrendous period. The people who want to control America and...

A coalition of House Republicans tasked with crafting energy and climate policy are set to unveil a six-point plan Thursday to, in part, curb global greenhouse gas emissions. The plan, proposed by the Energy, Climate, and Conservation (ECC) task force and spearheaded by Louisiana Rep. Garret Graves, will seek to “unlock” American resources, position the U.S. to beat China and Russia, boost innovation and improve conservation policies, according to the conservative green energy group ClearPath Action. House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy tapped Graves to lead the ECC task force and “develop policy solutions to help lower energy costs for consumers,...

A group of 40 House Republicans sent a letter to the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) Tuesday, urging the agency to rescind a regulatory proposal forcing companies to disclose “climate-related risks.” The Republicans, led by House Oversight Subcommittee on Environment Ranking Member Ralph Norman and North Carolina Rep. Ted Budd, slammed the financial regulator, saying it exceeded its congressionally-mandated authority in issuing the climate rule, in the letter obtained exclusively by the Daily Caller News Foundation. The lawmakers added that the rule was especially inappropriate given the ongoing energy crisis. “The SEC’s proposed climate rule is bad for business, bad...

Twenty-four of the country’s 28 GOP governors are backing the Senate confirmation of White House nominee Amy Coney Barrett – with President Trump critics Govs. Charles Baker and Larry Hogan among those not in support. Baker is the governor of Massachusetts, and Hogan is the governor of Maryland. The two other GOP governors who did not sign the letter are Chris Sununu of New Hampshire and Phil Scott of Vermont.

A break-in happened Saturday morning at the Las Vegas office of Nevada Republican Sen. Dean Heller, Las Vegas’ CBS News affiliate reported. A threatening note against Heller was also left behind, a source claims. The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department confirmed it is investigating the incident at Heller’s office on W. Sunset and told reporters there was no evidence of damage. Heller’s office would not comment on the break-in, saying, “We can’t comment on/discuss ongoing investigations.” Metro police spokesman confirms a break in at campaign office of Sen. Dean Heller. Some sort of threat was made as well. — George...

Among his other accomplishments, Donald Trump, without ever intending to, has fractured conservatism – something that was long overdue. The American conservative movement has come quite a distance since the middle of the last century, from a small coterie viewed with contempt by the larger culture to the front ranks of a juggernaut that set back the plans of this country’s left-wing collectivists to a degree that its founders would not have considered possible. (Recall William F. Buckley’s statement that the role of conservatism was to “stand athwart history, yelling “stop.” Incredible as it may seem, “history” did stop.) Today,...

Remember it’s a dual monarchy — it’s an illusion that two parties in both the House and Senate actually exist With just one day away from the Republicans self-imposed deadline to repeal botched Obamacare legislation, we can see that the GOP has no intention of achieving anything in favor of Trump, as both the Democrats and Republicans are wrapped up by the powers-that-be just as Intellihub has reported for years. With high-paid talking heads like Rush Limbaugh claiming that the two party system actually exists, it’s hard for narrow-minded members of the general public to figure out the true pyramid...

At Thursday's session of the Democratic National Convention, the party rolled out a number of Republicans who are supporting Hillary Clinton. Among them was Doug Elmets, a former Reagan administration official whom we included recently on a list of big-name GOP officials, donors and thought leaders who support Clinton. Below is the list. Richard Armitage, Henry Paulson, Brent Scowcroft. Three big-name former George W. Bush administration officials in the past two weeks have announced that they are supporting Hillary Clinton in 2016 — all because Donald Trump is simply a bridge too far for them.

This amendment, sponsored by Senator Isakson, would increase taxpayer subsidies from the Federal Housing Administration (FHA) for homes classified as "green energy" efficient. Proponents of the amendment argue that homes that meet the "green energy" standard will save those owners money on utility bills, and as such, those cost savings should be counted as increased income for loan applicants. Thus, the amendment would incentivize homebuyers to purchase "green energy" homes and further distort the housing market. The practical effect of this social engineering policy is that loan applicants will take out bigger loans than they may be able to afford...

(Watch video at link) The giant debt ceiling increase rolled together with a budget deal was introduced at 11:36 p.m. Monday, in the dead of night, several congressional sources confirm to Breitbart News. The text is 144 pages long and increases the debt ceiling beyond when President Barack Obama leaves office, all the way until March 2017. It also, according to Politico, increases spending by $50 billion this year and $30 billion more the following year. As AP reports, House Speaker Rep. John Boehner (R-OH) is pushing for a Wednesday vote, this would be yet another instance in which he...

Time and time again we see Republican leaders berate conservatives for allegedly taking their football and going home after a loss only to see those very same leaders be the ones who actually do leave the field. It is happening again in Kentucky where the prospect of a Matt Bevin win has so terrified the Republican Establishment, they are fleeing the state so a Democrat can win. I have been beating the drum for Matt Bevin for a few weeks. I did not want to indict the Republican Governors Association because from numerous people I heard they were just prodding...

Depending on how the next year and a half shakes out, we could be standing on the precipice of real change in the Republican Party. The turmoil that has engulfed both the House of Representatives and the GOP presidential race clearly demonstrates that something fundamental is happening on the ground. Fed up with lies, fed up with an unstoppable liberal tyrant, and fed up with spineless RINOs, conservatives are ready to burn the party to the ground if it means a phoenix might rise from the ashes. The controversy over the next House Speaker has both liberal and conservative writers...

I’ve made it clear that I would not trust Ben Carson with the keys to the Oval Office, and I am now of the opinion I wouldn’t trust him with the keys to a Cabinet post, either. (See “Dr. Ben Carson for president: Not so fast,” Feb. 6, 2014.) Carson is a without question one of the most gifted doctors in the history of medicine – but beyond that, he is either naïve, clueless, or he secretly supports an agenda or aspects thereof that have contributed to the racial divide in America. And as you will see, his disagreeable heterodoxy...

I have written to you in the past that we must know the mind of government or pay a huge price and perhaps pay with our lives. Ask the people of World War II Germany. They didn’t think that the National Socialists would be too bad. Then they thought that things would get better. Then they lost everything, and many lost their lives. The U.S. today is a fascist state no different from Nazi Germany. The only thing missing is the swastika and the jackboots. American fascism is far advanced from the German National Socialists. The State has had many...

After more than a year of treating their most passionate voters like they don’t matter at all, the Republican Party is no longer even trying to hide its disdain for conservatives. The surprise success of Donald Trump has thrown the GOP into disarray, ruining their carefully conceived plans of sending Jeb Bush to the general election. And instead of taking a step back, assessing the situation, and letting the voters tell them what they want, the party is desperate to regain control of the election. “You do not benefit by trying to draft behind Donald Trump and hope that he...

AFL-CIO President Richard Trumka testified before the Senate Finance Committee against fast-track authority for the Trans-Pacific Partnership agreement with Japan, Australia, and nine other Pacific Rim countries. RICHARD TRUMKA: Key to reforming our trade policies is abolishing the outdated, unaccountable, and undemocratic fast-track process. The Trans-Pacific Partnership now being negotiated by our government includes 12 countries and about 40 percent of world GDP. The TPP is designed to be infinitely expandable. So it could very well be the last trade agreement we negotiate. So it’s especially crucial that we get the terms of this one right. And Mr. Chairman, the...

If you are watching the news, or were listening to Mark Levin’s rant last evening, the subject du jour is the Senate passage 96-1 of the Corker-Cardin bill. Yes, that is Tennessee’s own Republican Senator Corker, who obviously has his political eye set on a future in the White House. The bill is advertised by Republican leadership as a great victory, giving Congress 30 days to review the President’s secret nuclear treaty negotiations with Iran before enactment. Under present law, the President cannot execute a treaty with a foreign nation unless it has the approval of 2/3 of the Senate....

If President Obama is to succeed in advancing the so-called free trade agenda, he will have to overcome some stiff opposition from his fellow Democrats. While Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) is preparing to bring Trade Promotion Authority to a vote in the Senate next week, Minority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) wants to put off consideration of the matter while the Senate deals with legislation on highway funding and renewal of government surveillance authority under the PATRIOT Act. Meanwhile, a number of Democrats seeking to replace GOP incumbents in the U.S. Senate next year are already exploiting the trade...

Senator Ted Cruz (R-Texas), a steadfast opponent of the Obama administration’s use of executive actions to grant amnesty to illegal aliens, is facing opposition from members of his own party in his attempt to delay a Senate vote to confirm Loretta Lynch — President Obama’s nominee for attorney general — until the White House reverses itself on the executive actions. Cruz explained his position in a statement made to Politico in the Capitol on February 3: For several months now, I have called on the Senate majority leader to halt confirmations of every nominee executive and judicial, other than vital...

Republican voters believed they had sent a message to Washington in November when they voted to increase the GOP majority in the House and give Republicans a Senate majority for the first time since 2007. If a message was sent, it was not received. Weeper of the House of John Boehner got only a token challenge for his speakership. Most of the new freshmen sent to Congress to change the status quo in the House turned into congressweasels before they’d even moved their furniture into their new Capitol Hill offices. That’s even quicker than usual. Normally, they hold out a...
