The recall announced Monday covers several varieties of Gold Medal and Signature Kitchens flour produced on certain dates through February 10. A multistate outbreak of Listeriosis linked to packaged salad mixes produced by Dole Fresh Vegetables Inc. is being investigated by federal, state and local officials. Listeriosis is a rare but serious illness usually caused by food contaminated by the Listeria monocytogenes bacteria, according to the Food and Drug Administration, one of the federal agencies involved in the investigation.
