Somalia's government said it had suspended and detained several members of an elite, U.S.-trained commando unit for stealing rations donated by the United States, adding that it was taking over responsibility for provisioning the force. The Danab unit has been a key pillar of U.S.-backed efforts to combat the al Qaeda-linked militant group al Shabaab. The United States agreed in February to spend more than $100 million to build up to five military bases for Danab. Somalia's defense ministry said in a statement late on Thursday that it had notified international partners of the theft and would share the outcome...

Joe Biden is about to sign an executive order that will declare a “climate emergency,” granting the executive sweeping new powers to enforce rations, lockdowns and other tyrannical measures in order to “save the planet” from “global warming,” according to a United Nations (UN) insider who has been working with the Democrat president.

Having survived a close call with a tornado this past Friday night I got a dose of reality and I find I’m taking the health of my family a great deal more seriously now. That being said I’m looking for suggestions on the best available emergency food rations pack or kits. I’ve looked at the offerings on Amazon but there are several negative reviews and it’s difficult to choose without seeing them. Thanks for the advice.

“Josh Sigurdson reports on the shocking footage out of Poland as thousands line up for DAYS at a time in their cars to collect rations of coal to ensure heating in the winter as the global supply chain and the energy grid collapse simultaneously, all by the plan. Cars could be seen for as far as the eye can see, waiting to desperately hoard coal for the coming winter as the grid goes down. The rations are becoming clear and present worldwide as the globalists destroy the supply chain and grid. The rations are just an early sign of what...

I hope you find this as interesting as I did. I especially like the twin ideas of having mothers help cook the food and also inspecting the food along the supply chain to make sure the young soldiers are getting tasty, nutritious meals. We should do something like that.

Detainees’ diets at Guantanamo Bay have been a controversial issue for some time and now the U.S. prison is said to be rationing ice cream. The frozen dessert is allegedly being tightly measured, with only one ice cream allowed for each of its 147 detainees. Journalist for The Miami Herald, Carol Rosenberg, photographed a refrigerator at Guantanamo, with two signs reading ‘DETAINEE FOOD ONLY’ and ‘Only 1 Ice Cream For each detainee!’

Not too long ago, a man in the UK pulled 13 of his own teeth rather than live in agony because the National Health Service didn’t have a dentist to treat his chronic teeth problems. His fellow Brits won’t have the option of using a pliers on their backs after the most recent rationing decision by the NHS. In order to save £33 million ($55.6 million), the British single-payer system will no longer give cortisone shots for nonspecific back pain despite the effectiveness of the treatment:

Three UK explorers surveying the Arctic ice were down to rations of just 90g of food each per day until a resupply flight reached them on Tuesday. Bad weather had frustrated repeated attempts to land new food stocks at the ice camp set up by Pen Hadow, Ann Daniels and Martin Hartley. The explorers, from the Catlin Arctic Survey, usually consume enough food to give them about 6,000 calories per day. The cut in rations took them down to just 1,000 calories each. In the last few days before the flight landed, the team had gone without any hot food...

WASHINGTON, Nov. 21, 2007 – When troops stationed in the Middle East sit down to Thanksgiving dinner tomorrow, the turkey won’t come in a brown field rations pouch. Defense Supply Center Philadelphia's Subsistence Division is responsible for making sure each dining facility has all the food it needs to provide a traditional holiday meal like this one in 2006. U.S. MARINE CORPS FORCES, PACIFIC, CAMP H. M. SMITH, Hawaii (01-03-2006) -- If you are tired of trying to make Meal-Ready-to-Eat menus more palatable, then your search may be over. The field rations have progressed a long way from the C-rats of the past, and they continue to change even to this day. Four of the current 24 MREs have been removed and are being replaced by new and improved menus, according to the U.S. Army Soldier Systems Center, located in Natick, Mass. Usually the ASSC only replaces two MREs a year, but this year they wanted to give the...

Would you eat food cooked in your own urine? Food scientists working for the US military have developed a dried food ration that troops can hydrate by adding the filthiest of muddy swamp water or even peeing on it. The ration comes in a pouch containing a filter that removes 99.9 per cent of bacteria and most toxic chemicals from the water used to rehydrate it, according to the Combat Feeding Directorate, part of the US Army Soldier Systems Center in Natick, Massachusetts. This is the same organisation that created the "indestructible sandwich" that will stay fresh for three years...

From a letter to the editor:       "Not long ago in 'Novaya Gazeta'. I read Dina Rubinaya's comments on how they feed soldiers in the Israeli army. For example, one can't get yoghurt for lunch, since it's reserved for breakfast.        I'm sending you labels from rations which were distributed for army consumption in May of this year at one of the units in Pskov. Our 'daddy' is annoyed by all of this, and decided to share it with his family. All are from expired foodstuffs.        I ask that if you decide to use this material, not to use my last name, in...
  • US Army invents a sandwich that lasts 3 years

PARIS - The US military has devised the world's first ''indestructible sandwich'' - designed to survive airdrops and extreme temperatures and still be edible several years later. Experts at the US Army Soldier Systems Centre in Natick, Massachusetts, came up with the sandwich as a means of supplementing battlefield rations, New Scientist reports. It is a cunning balance of smart packaging, clever filling and water content, because moisture and air encourage mould. The food experts crafted chunky fillings such as pepperoni and barbecued chicken to which they added humectants - substances that prevent the water from leaking out. The sandwiches...
