Early in the morning of April 20th we poured concrete on the train tracks that lead out of the Port of Olympia to block any trains from using the tracks. We took precautions to notify BNSF (the train company) – we called them and we used wires to send a signal that the tracks were blocked. We did this not to avoid damaging a train, nothing would bring bigger grins to our faces, but to avoid the risk of injuring railway workers. Passengers on a District Line Tube train at Parsons Green have reported panic on the platform after reports of a fire or explosion. According to a metro.co.uk reporter at the scene people have suffered facial burns and a white container exploded towards the rear of the train. She said people were ‘really badly burned’ adding that ‘there hair was coming off’. The rear of the train filled with smoke and people were evacuated onto the platform at Parsons Green. COLUMBIA, SC CSX has upped the reward it is offering for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or people responsible for the August 5th train accident in Lugoff. In an announcement on Friday, the CSX police said the reward is now $25,000, up from the initial $5,000 reward announced earlier in the week. The Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) has published a final rule for a new pilot program that would seek competitive bids from "eligible petitioners" to replace Amtrak as the operator of up to three long-distance routes. The rules fall under a provision of the Fixing America's Surface Transportation (FAST) Act that requires the FRA to implement the pilot program.
