It used to appear so simple for many of us: you were a boy or you were a girl. Girls wore pink, and boys wore blue; girls played with dolls, and boys played with trucks. Yet around the globe, these traditional notions of gender are changing rapidly, and labels are no longer so clear cut. National Geographic sets out to explore this evolving concept of gender through the lens of science, society and culture in the groundbreaking new two-hour documentary GENDER REVOLUTION: A JOURNEY WITH KATIE COURIC, premiering Monday, Feb. 6, at 9/8c. Produced by Katie Couric Media with National...

Nothing could make a liberal power couple’s hearts swell up with pride more than the sweet sounds of their young daughter throwing a pro-abortion hissy fit. That’s exactly what happened Tuesday on The View, when actress/comedian Ali Wentworth, married to ABC anchor George Stephanopoulos, boasted about how “upset” her young daughter was with Trump’s win. Wentworth bragged that the 14-year-old ranted and raved around their home afterwards, sulking about abortion and “women’s rights.” You know, the typical story told around the watercooler except on national television. As The View hosts tried to shift the conversation to Wentworth’s new TV show,...

Star Trek: Discovery finally has its star. The Walking Dead's Sonequa Martin-Green will headline the first Star Trek series in over a decade for CBS All Access, TVGuide.com has learned. Martin-Green will play a lieutenant commander in the new series hitting CBS' streaming network in May 2017. This is the first time that a Star Trek series won't be anchored by a character playing a captain, but according to Entertainment Weekly, who first reported the news, Martin-Green's character's position as lieutenant will have "caveats." Casting an African-American female to lead the series was a big priority for the show's original...

Today at the Heritage Foundation, Newt Gingrich delivered a speech on “Trumpism” in which he lavished praise on President-elect Donald Trump and promoted his new ebook on Trump’s campaign while skewering the pontificating elites of the establishment. “Donald Trump is the grizzly bear in ‘The Revenant,’” Gingrich said. “If you get his attention, he will get awake. When he gets awake, he will walk over and bite your face off.” He said that while Trump’s “low energy” hit on his former GOP rival Jeb Bush was “totally untrue,” it was so effective that it proved Trump’s ability to read an...

On January 2, 2013 President Barack Obama signed and enacted into “law” HR 4310, also known as Smith-Mundt Modernization Act of 2012, which was part of the 2013 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA). A large majority of concerned Americans were focused on the indefinite detention of US Citizens without trial clause contained in the NDAA, and missed HR 4310 which received little to no attention. The US Information and Educational Exchange Act of 1948, more commonly known as the Smith-Mundt Act of 1948, was first introduced as the Bloom Bill in December 1945 in the 79th Congress and subsequently passed...

In the latest example why the "mainstream media" is facing a historic crisis of confidence among its readership, facing unprecedented blowback following Craig Timberg November 24 Washington Post story "Russian propaganda effort helped spread ‘fake news’ during election, experts say", on Wednesday a lengthy editor's note appeared on top of the original article in which the editor not only distances the WaPo from the "experts" quoted in the original article whose "work" served as the basis for the entire article (and which became the most read WaPo story the day it was published) but also admits the Post could not...

Tyler DurdenDecember 1, 2016 Submitted by Martin Armstrong via ArmstrongEconomics.com Gallup first began asking if Americans trusted the mainstream media in 1972. America’s trust and confidence in mainstream media stood at its highest level back in 1976 at 72%. Of course, that was due to the investigative journalism regarding Vietnam, and naturally Woodward and Berstein, with the Watergate scandal. Following that period, the media began to attack the right with Reagan. By the late 1990s, the Americans’ trust in the media fell steadily into the low to mid 50% level. Following 2005, the trust in mainstream media dropped into the...

Electoral College voters based in Colorado have formed a political non-profit to block Donald Trump from the presidency. According to The Denver Post, Michael Baca, a Democratic elector, filed paperwork Tuesday with the Colorado Secretary of State's Office to create the "Hamilton Electors," a group able to fundraise unlimited donations from individuals, corporations and labor unions for political reasons. The goal of the group is to convince Republican and Democratic Electoral College voters to unify behind a Republican alternative for President or force an Electoral College deadlock. “I was opposed, actually, to raising money because I would prefer to just...

A CNN host used a segment on Islamophobia on Monday to suggest American non-Muslims may want to start wearing hijabs. “New Day” with Chris Cuomo and Alisyn Camerota featured a piece titled “The Trump transition: Fearful Muslim women take steps to be safe” just hours before Abdul Razak Ali Artan, 20, attempted to use a vehicle and a butcher knife to kill Ohio State University students. The ill-timed story ended with Ms. Camerota discussing ways to ease the fears of Muslim Americans. “Maybe there will be a movement where people wear the head scarf in solidarity. You know, even if...

Is there reason to doubt climate change because some of the nation’s hottest days happened in 1898, as President-elect Donald Trump told the New York Times in an interview Tuesday? In an exchange with Times publisher Arthur Sulzberger Jr. and staff about climate change on Tuesday (Nov. 22), Trump said, “I have an open mind to it,” but later added, “You know the hottest day ever was in 1890-something, 98. You know, you can make lots of cases for different views.” However, it’s misleading to single out a weather event — such as a particularly hot day in 1898 — as evidence...

What would happen if conservatives started to change the words we use for political ends?

Throughout history, revolutionaries of all stripes have warped the meaning of words to subvert reality.

And now here we go again, with another effort — spearheaded by the media and universities — to use any linguistic means necessary to achieve political ends.

Friday, November 18, 2016 You Are Being Lied To Posted by Daniel Greenfield Media schizophrenia. Every quantum leap in mass communications also made possible a vast improvement in propaganda techniques. Nazi and Soviet propaganda looks as crude to us as a Babbage calculating machine. Virtual reality isn't something that's coming. It's here. It's been here for a while. The potent combination of media budgets and crowdsourced social media distribution has allowed for a previously unparalleled level of propaganda that creates and inhabits its own virtual reality. There's a name for that sort of thing. Schizophrenia. What happens when the schizophrenic...
