  • My thoughts on what will happen when NPV goes into effect

    01/03/2018 11:35:20 AM PST · by Mafe · 46 replies
NPV was started back in 2007. Never mind that it already violates the law - as I understand states must get Congressional approval before entering into contracts that affect the federal government. So far, ever since 2007, the Democrat has won the popular vote in every presidential election and in every NPV state. When NPV gets enough states to reach 270, there will be a situation where one candidate wins the popular vote in a state but is denied the electoral votes from that state because of NPV. This alone would be enough to cause a lawsuit, and on top...

Less than a month after President Trump announced the U.S. would move its embassy in Israel from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, Guatemala became the first nation to follow his lead, announcing on Christmas Eve that it would move its embassy as well...No other country has their embassy for Israel in Jerusalem, though the Czech Republic has said it is considering such a move.

  • Surprisingly, Republicans and Conservatives Shouldn’t Fear a National Popular Vote

    Right Wing News ^ | December 12, 2017 | Rachel Alexander
Republicans are hesitant to switch from our winner-take-all state laws allocating electors to the electoral college to using the National Popular Vote. The National Popular Vote Plan would award all of a state’s electors to the candidate who wins the most popular votes in all fifty states. There is a fear that such a move will benefit Democrats, since Democrats won the popular vote even though they lost the elections in 2000 and 2016. But the truth is, Republicans are likely going to lose their ability to win the necessary swing state of Florida in the future, and they can...

President Donald Trump will announce Wednesday that the United States recognizes Jerusalem as the capital of Israel, and that the State Department will begin a process to move the U.S. embassy in Israel to Jerusalem.Trump will first announce that the “United States government recognizes that Jerusalem is the capital of Israel,” according to one of three senior administration officials who spoke with reporters on Tuesday. The officials conveyed that the change is a recognition of “reality” — both the historic reality that Jerusalem has been the capital of the Jewish people and the Jewish faith since ancient times; and the modern reality that the...

George Washington University recently spent half a million dollars inaugurating its new president over a three-day period, a price tag that comes after recent budget cuts and employee layoffs. When university president Thomas LeBlanc was sworn into office in November, the school spent about $500,000 on a three-day series of events, according to The GW Hatchet, the campus newspaper. The schedule of events, according to the university’s website, included a student brunch, a ninety-minute inauguration ceremony, an “inaugural celebration,” an invitation-only dinner at the Library of Congress, and a faculty-only reception at the president’s home.

On November 8, 2016, the man I had been rooting for, and arguing for, and educating anyone who would listen to me for, was elected the 45th president of the United States. It might as well have been a football game I was watching as I cheered and yelled, rooting for my guy as the states were called. When Trump took Florida, I knew it was over. My guy was winning. Against all the odds and all the naysayers and all the protesting degenerates, and the Hollywood elites’ multi-million dollar fundraisers for Clinton, my man Trump was taking this thing all the way to...

With the first indictment looming from the federal Trump-Russia investigation, President Donald Trump is getting a reminder: His pardoning pardons can’t fix everything. “I don't think the president's power is all that absolute, as people have been suggesting,” California Representative Adam Schiff, the top Democrat on the House Intelligence Committee, told ABC News’ “This Week” Sunday. “The president cannot pardon people if it's an effort to obstruct justice, if it's an effort to prevent Bob Mueller and others from learning about the President's own conduct. So, there are limitations.” Special Counsel Robert Mueller, who has been investigating the Trump campaign’s...

**SNIP** Speaking to University of Chicago students at the university’s Institute of Politics, Perez said, “I would welcome that because sometimes I hear people say we don’t have a bench of presidential candidates, and I could not disagree with that more.” Perez didn’t identify any candidates he expected to run, though former Vice President Joe Biden, U.S. Sens. Kamala Harris and Cory Booker, and U.S. Rep. Tim Ryan have all been rumored to be considering a 2020 run. The Republicans in 2016 had 17 candidates, forcing underperforming candidates off the main stage and into a second-tier debate. A double-digit Democratic...

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) quipped Wednesday that it would be nice if Mitt Romney was president. "Wouldn’t be nice if he were president of the United States?” she asked during a Los Angeles Times event, according to the Boston Globe. In 2015, Pelosi said she hoped Romney would be the GOP's presidential nominee because she didn't think he had any chance of defeating Hillary Clinton. During a 2015 interview with The Hill, Pelosi was asked if she thought Romney had any shot at defeating Clinton in 2016. “No, no. I mean, he might be a nice person —...

Secretary of State Rex Tillerson on Sunday again declined to clearly say he hadn't called President Donald Trump “a moron,” but he did deny a Republican senator's claim that he had been castrated as the nation's top diplomat. Tillerson twice refused to say that he had not called the president “a moron,” as reported by NBC News, instead punting on the question and saying he would not dignify it with a response. “I call the president ‘Mr. President,’” Tillerson said on CNN’s "State of the Union." “At the end of the day, he makes decisions. I go out and try...

“In the spring of 1971, I met a girl.” That’s how Bill Clinton began his speech at the Democratic National Convention. Many women across America thought, “Really? Which one?” Now that women are coming out of the woodwork accusing Republican nominee Donald Trump of sexual abuse, the liberals are saying we should believe them, to listen to their stories. I agree. But we should also listen to THESE women’s stories: 1. Three college students In 1969, Bill Clinton was a 23-year-old Rhodes scholar at Oxford University when he was accused of sexual assault by a fellow student, an English woman...
