Joe Scarborough has suggested that President Obama's poor poll numbers made him "desperate," leading him to agree to a deal with Iran on its nuclear program that Scarborough criticized as "bad" and even "horrible." Scarborough described recently speaking with someone who said that no president with approval ratings under 40% should be allowed to do a deal. Reminds me of doctors' warnings not to sign legal documents while under the effects of some medications. Said Scarborough of unpopular presidents: "they get desperate, they really do." <p>First Lady Michelle Obama has played the role of Felix to her husband’s Oscar during their entire 20-year partnership, President Obama revealed.</p> <p>“I had this little bachelor apartment that Michelle refused to stay in because she thought it was a little, uh . . . you know, pizza boxes everywhere,” President Obama says in April’s Vogue.</p>

Surveying the wreckage of the recently concluded legislative session, it is hard to avoid the conclusion that the Legislature is on a collision course with reality. The lawmakers and their constituents seem to be living in parallel universes. All polls show that Californians give the Legislature miserably low approval ratings.
