.... Marxism-Leninism is particularly effective on the semantic level where it exhibits a devastating duality. It lulls its adversaries to sleep, while at the same time it mobilizes its followers to revolutionary action. The Communist International's Seventh Congress concluded that open use of revolutionary terminology does not promote the Marxist-Leninist drive for world domination. Therefore, "revolution" has been changed into "liberation," "world conquest by the proletariat" has speen changed into "peace and socialism," "armed seizure of power and liquidation of the bourgeoisie" has been rephrased to read "peaceful and gradual transition to socialism.'' Even the word "Communism," which every revolutionary...

This is my first vanity post, so I apologize if I have done it wrong. Basically, I am in need of a web site that has pro-Conservative political cartoons. I teach school and am at war with a liberal who has begun an "Election 2004" bulletin board plastered with anti-Conservative cartoons and news articles. I am fighting back. I have found many good ones at www.liberalscum.com. Are there any other collections out there. Thanks for you help.

WASHINGTON - The Secret Service (news - web sites) used "profoundly bad judgment" in seeking to question a Los Angeles Times cartoonist over a political cartoon depicting a man pointing a gun at President Bush (news - web sites), a senior House Republican said Tuesday.   Rep. Christopher Cox (news, bio, voting record), R-Calif., chairman of the House Homeland Security Committee, said the Secret Service owed Pulitzer Prize-winning cartoonist Michael Ramirez an apology "and the public is owed an explanation both of how this happened and why it will not happen again." The use of "federal power to attempt to...
  • Like ''Doonesbury,'' But Funny

The second-to-last line of this past Sunday's "Doonesbury" has to be read to be believed and even then I fear readers will accuse me of making it up: "You are all jingoistic self-regarding conquer-monkeys!" The full eight panel cartoon was a mini sermon -- in French -- chiding American readers for the weeks-old controversy over "freedom" fries. I hereby nominate it as the worst single cartoon in the history of the strip. Admittedly, the last few months have offered a lot of competition; it's been almost a race to the bottom. There was the preachy strip in which the Rev....

(KRT) - Last week, I drew a cartoon showing a man in Middle Eastern garb driving a Ryder truck hauling a nuke with the caption, "What Would Mohammed Drive?" The drawing was a takeoff on the recent controversy among Christian evangelicals over the morality of driving gas-guzzling SUVs, "What would Jesus drive?" To a cartoonist working in the current geo-political atmosphere it is a natural step to ask, "What would Mohammed drive?" And I'm sorry to report that the image in post-Sept. 11 America that leaps to mind is the Ryder truck given to us by the terrorist Timothy McVeigh,...
