In Need of Pro-Conservative Political Cartoons (Vanity)
vanity | 5-15-04 | admiralsn

Posted on 05/15/2004 5:11:06 PM PDT by admiralsn

This is my first vanity post, so I apologize if I have done it wrong. Basically, I am in need of a web site that has pro-Conservative political cartoons. I teach school and am at war with a liberal who has begun an "Election 2004" bulletin board plastered with anti-Conservative cartoons and news articles. I am fighting back. I have found many good ones at www.liberalscum.com. Are there any other collections out there.

Thanks for you help.

Best wishes to you and your bulletin board idea -- it's great that the kids get to see a spectrum of political opinions. I hope your effort goes great.

I have several photos saved from FreeRepublic showing school kids (especially girls in Afghanistan) who are now free to learn, thanks to the USA. Let me know if those are the sort of images that might be suitable for your project. For me, these pictures are very moving.

There's a mix of political views at this cartoon site.

If you look through certain topics, you will find comics/cartoons with a conservative point of view.

I wish I could help, but I don't know any.

Thank for posting this because I have a couple questions.

1. Are teachers allowed to outwardly influence students on political matters?

2. What are the rules if there are any.

I ask because one of my 4 daughters has a teacher who is basicly grading her student on her lib. views. I want to tell my kid to go to the office if this sort of thing is not allowed.

If you don't mind me asking, do the kids in your school ever talk about current events like the war on terrorism, politics, etc? Or are they pretty much concerned with other things?

A cursory scan of the thread and its contributors' links did not show this site.

I'm not sure he has a website, but Michel Ramirez (Los Angeles Times) is one of the best editorial cartoonists anywhere....and he is Conservative. Very intelligent.
Probably syndicated to a newspaper near you.

I'm not a teacher, but I'm under the impression that what you describe happens a lot, even tho it's unethical at a minimum.

Get the story from your daughter, with good examples, and then start a vanity thread telling the story and asking for advice from other Freepers here. My guess is that it will be an interesting, and long, thread.

IMO the absolute best conservative cartoonist in the business is
Michael Ramirez at the, believe or not, Los Angeles Times

here is a link to a page with all of his recent political cartoons.

Check him out! HE IS THE BEST!!!

Post 17 is for you.
Link to Ramirez's cartoons.

Ramirez is not syndicated.
He works for the LA Times only.

If it helps, I had an issue last semester with my Sociology teacher ( subject matter should have been a warning to me, eh?). Anyway, I found the college board policy on politics in the classroom and realized that he did violate a couple of their rules. You may want to find out what the rules are. Get specifics from your daughter. And, yes, post here! I got AWESOME help from fellow Freepers with a letter to the school board. Best of luck!!
