Twas the night before Inauguration, and up in the tower, The Donald reflected on his newfound power. The conservative masses had come out in force, And delivered a victory that would chart a new course. The snowflakes were shell-shocked with tears in their eyes, The media lied to them . . . What a surprise. They had been promised a Hillary win, But the criminal Clinton took one on the chin. And though from all corners celebrities flew, They made no impression, for they hadn?t a clue. They talked about climate, racism, and such, And they made up good stories...

Richard Schaefer, a 21-year-old man from Orange County, California, has spent years posting pictures of himself dressed up as his favorite female Disney characters to social media. Boasting a massive collection of 40 costumes and 30 wigs, the self-described “Disney addict” says his decision to cosplay — a combination of the words costume and role-play, where a person dresses up as a character from a comic book, video game, or movie — came after people began commenting on how similar his appearance was to that of a woman. “I decided to start cosplaying as princesses because of how androgynous people...

Liquor is abundant in Arabic culture, its role a liquid of material and spiritual pleasure; considering that the Arab heritage is poetic as well as literary, liquor and other spirits abound in these works, their presence being felt in many types of poetic works. This makes liquor an element in reading material, a depiction meant to show splendor and fame, or a catchall term for drinks similar to it. So that one may attempt to approach the poetic truth, characteristics are attributed to liquor, like being a drink with the ability to transcend that which is sensual or habitual (any...

Dear Diary: Some people look like their dogs; some like their spouses. You see they belong together, and you smile. This subway rider looked like, and belonged to, his thick book. Ginger hair, pulled back in a tail away from his ruddy baby face, matching his scruffy beard. Youthful and burly, rustic and earthy, dressed for the outdoors in a jacket and a pale red flannel shirt. Not yet spoiled by city life, innocent, unadventured, but poised to begin, clutching his treasured story in readiness. What was that book to him? Fiction? History? Autobiography? No clue from his silent eyes,...

A short poem you won't forget. "A bump in the road" ..... remember that calloused statement? I don’t know the author of this poem. Received it today. Very thought provoking and poignant. I do recall, however, the President referring to the Benghazi incident as "a bump in the road." Today I heard an ex-Navy Seal being interviewed on Fox News regarding a book he has written about how to handle crisis situations in our lives. At the end of the interview he asked if he could make a comment on Benghazi and of course the anchor said yes. He then...
