I’ll leave it to you to match today’s politicians with the quotes that best suit them: 1) “The lady doth protest too much, methinks.” (“Hamlet”) 2) “One may smile, and smile, and be a villain.” (“Hamlet”) 3) “I am a man more sinned against than sinning.” (“King Lear”) 4) “Look like the innocent flower, but be the serpent under’t.” (“Macbeth”) 5) “I wasted time, and now doth time waste me.” (“Richard II”) 6) “Plain and not honest is too harsh a style.” (“Richard III”) 7) “The commonwealth is sick of their own choice.” (“Henry IV, Part II”) 8) “Virtue is...

Hillary's use of "Basket of Deplorables" has opened many opportunities. A recent Trump rally opened with "The Song of Angry Men" from "Les Miserables." The lyrics of this great song reflect the attitude of those who love this country and support Trump's efforts to save it.

Our Blessed Heroes of 9-11 To those intrepid souls who fought the fight before the fight began Who gave their all on this second "Day of Infamy" Unaware of their impending fate living their lives as God would want became the sacrifice To evil forces defying the Creator as is their want All loving souls in a special Heaven set aside only of them with heartbroken families mourning their fate Asking God to retaliate that it never happens again And on this date forever more we will all recall the tragic scenes of crashing planes building burning falling down Our...
  • "Mountain Dance" Astonishing Orchestral Version, Dave Grusin on Piano

    09/03/2016 1:38:22 PM PDT · by Steely Tom · 26 replies
This is simply the best piece of music I've heard in thirty years. Absolutely awesome. Note Mr. Grusin's quotation from In The Mood in his solo riff, at 3:12. Note also his (possible) mistake at the end of his closing arpeggio (at 6:04), which he then repeats, as if to say, "yeah, I made a mistake, and even my mistakes are terrific!"

Friends - I wanted to let you know that Dad died very peacefully last night about 9:30. He was here at home surrounded by people who love him. My dear friend Julie Adams and I were flanking him in bed, my husband Robert was nearby and Gertie was curled up next to the bed. Dad was listening to Baby the Rain Must Fall when his breaths spaced out and he drifted up and out during the last chorus - catching a ride on the Perseids to his next Great Adventure. It was a very good death. More stories to tell...

Le Chanson de Roland ^ | ca. Anno Domini 1100 | unknown
Karl the Great cannot choose but weep, For him hath his host compassion deep; And for Roland, a marvellous boding dread. It was Gan, the felon, this treason bred; He hath heathen gifts of silver and gold, Costly raiment, and silken fold, Horses and camels, and mules and steeds. But lo! King Marsil the mandate speeds, To his dukes, his counts, and his vassals all, To each almasour and amiral. And so, before three suns had set, Four hundred thousand in muster met. Through Saragossa the tabors sound; On the loftiest turret they raise Mahound: Before him the Pagans bend...

LINK to video Three young women of mixed race speaking to their white mamas. I'm not gonna editorialize, but watch it if interested. I came across it, and others, after watching the recent puke-inducing "poem" by 14 year old Royce Mann. I guess "poems" and "art" have to be angry and "edgy" to be accepted. I will say, if I had to go to one of these events, I would have to take some aspirin and valium to endure it. Here is the link to the Royce Mann thread: Dear black people, I'm sorry - but I wouldn't change places...

Royce Mann, an eighth grader from Atlanta, Ga., took the Internet by surprise with his poem called, “white boy privilege” that he wrote and recited at his school’s poetry slam contest in May. In the video recently posted by his mother on YouTube, 14-year-old Mann expresses his thoughts on race, gender and equality issues. He began the poem by saying how grateful he was to have been born a white male and said that he loved his “white boy privilege.” “Dear women, I’m sorry, dear black people, I’m sorry… Dear everyone who isn’t a middle or upper class white boy,...

Boris Johnson has won a £1,000 prize for a rude poem about the Turkish president having sex with a goat. “If somebody wants to make a joke about the love that flowers between the Turkish president and a goat, he should be able to do so, in any European country, including Turkey,” Johnson told interviewer Nicholas Farrell, who then challenged him to enter the Spectator’s poetry prize.

Which bunk do you think Hillary Clinton will have in her cell in prison? Do you think she'll have the top bunk or the bottom bunk? Personally, I think she sleeps hanging from the roof like an old bat. I'm just writing this to help Hillary's defenders get used to the idea of their girl behind bars.
