Kierah Lagrave, 22, of Plattsburgh, had been at the Five1Eight nightclub on October 20 when she noticed someone slap her butt from behind. The woman then walked up to the bouncer, strangling him until he fell unconscious and dropped to the floor, police said. Authorities tracked down and arrested Lagrave last Thursday on a charge of second-degree strangulation and later released her on her own recognizance.

From the Battle of Plattsburgh edition of Lake Champlain Weekly First, my enormous thanks to the owners and editor of Lake Champlain Weekly for allowing me, an enemy national, to write this column at a time of war between our countries. This respect for freedom of speech is part of our shared Anglo-American heritage, which your country, to its great credit, has written into its Constitution. As my regular readers will know, I am a great admirer of America, and though your country is less than 40 years old, I am sure it has a great future ahead of it....

PLATTSBURGH -- After hearing overwhelming support for a resolution opposed to war in Iran, Plattsburgh city councilors agreed to send a message. ... The council voted unanimously to support Provost's resolution calling for all diplomatic efforts to be exhausted before entering into war with Iran. The measure was altered somewhat as a compromise. Taken out were specific paragraphs that directly criticized President George W. Bush, accused the administration of lying, pointed out the number of soldiers and people killed and wounded in the war with Iraq, and the cost of the war. Councilor William Provost (D-Ward 6) "That was democracy...

The poll, which was presented Monday at the state legislative budget hearing on education funding, surveyed voter opinion in the districts of Senate Finance Committee Chairman Owen Johnson (R-Babylon), Assembly Ways and Means Committee Chairman Herman "Denny" Farrell (D-Manhattan), the Senate Education Committee Chairman Stephen Saland (R-Poughkeepsie), Assembly Education...

Similar patrols already operate extensively along the southern border with Mexico, where thousands of illegal immigrants from Mexico and Central America pass through into the United...

The Sludge Report After just two weeks on the air, Air America Radio, the fledgling liberal talk-radio network featuring Al Franken, Janeane Garofalo, and that really loud woman from Florida, appears to have encountered serious cash-flow problems. Stop the presses!!! There’s nothing more exciting than half a story from a third hand source!!!! Insiders tell SLUDGE, that the reason the network was pulled off the air this morning in Chicago and Los Angeles, the network's second- and third-largest markets, was because, the owner of both stations, Arthur Liu of Multicultural Broadcasting, said, the network bounced a check and owes...
