Last I heard, Plattsburgh had a gay mayor. I was stationed there two years and thought it was too cold to be gay.

Oddly enough, Hillary didn't carry Clinton county ( Plattsburgh is the largest town ) in her Senate runs.

UPDATE: Anton Troianovski of the Wall Street Journal followed up with the Plattsburgh police on this, and was told that the volunteer actually damaged his tire on a broken bottle.

There may be some Scozzafava supporters who are very bitter about what happened. I suspect the Dems but I wouldn't put a going away sucker punch past one of the people who nominated Scozzafava.

I consider that nomination to have been far more damaging that a mere set of tires. However it backfired on them and lit a fire under conservatives that might not have been there for 2010.

An old union trick is to wedge broken glass bottles forward of the rear tire and behind front tire, so no matter how one leaves a parking spot one of the tires runs over broken glass.

Whoops! Too bad you missed seeing that glass.

Roofing nails are also used.

So the glass doesn't necessarily mean it was "just an accident".

I called it an X-acto knife blade. It was actually an utility knife blade. They broke the blade off after sticking it in the tire. What's nasty about it is it starts out as a slow leak that gets worse as the blade works its way through the tire. Lucky I didn't get on the freeway and have it suddenly deflate.
