Detroit police are seeking charges against Allegheny County Controller Chelsa Wagner following an altercation early Wednesday in a Downtown hotel, according to the Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office. Allegheny County officials are pledging to improve security with its real estate website after a Penn Hills family said a man sharing the same name was able to change the owner's address. Real estate records show Sylvester Ward bought his house on Vantine Street in 2008. Another man, also named Sylvester Ward, in North Carolina was able to change the owner's address on the property through the county's real estate office. The owner of a Pittsburgh Mills mall store went from asking police to investigate a suspected burglary there to being charged with selling counterfeit merchandise. The Pittsburgh City Council is pushing a ban on AR-15s and other commonly-owned semiautomatic rifles, as well BB guns and starter pistols. PITTSBURGH - Hundreds of people gathered Monday in downtown Pittsburgh for an open carry rally in response to proposed gun control measures introduced by the City Council last month. Part of Grant Street was blocked off, and precautions are in place as gun rights activists from around the region take part in the rally. Open Carry Pennsylvania encouraged gun owners and supporters to demonstrate at noon outside the City-County Building on Grant Street. Hundreds of protesters gathered Monday in Pittsburgh's Downtown to rally against proposed restrictions on guns and ammunition. The new laws include a ban on various types of “assault weapons” including rifles, handguns and shotguns.
