A Valencia County woman was killed by a pit bull on Friday afternoon. The incident occurred at approximately 4:30 p.m. at the woman's home off Crawford Road in Jarales, just south of Belen. According to the Valencia County Sheriff's Department, the woman's son came home and found his mother dead from the attack. He killed the dog immediately following the attack.
