Perhaps you, furthermore, are more than slightly disturbed that millions have flocked to this bizarre ultraviolent blood-drenched revisionist flick and that so many actually believe its story to be absolutely true, and that it just surpassed "The Return of the King" in total box office and is the No. 8 most successful film of all time and it was No. 1 again across BushCo's flyover states during Easter weekend and has sold 650,000 books and 125,000...

<p>Record-breaking multitudes over a span of many weeks have now viewed Mel Gibson's "The Passion of the Christ" in every major and far-flung U.S. locale, and not one American synagogue has been torched or Jewish cemetery vandalized by the Christian faithful who have seen the movie. Having been forewarned that in medieval Europe, passion plays and Easter sermons roused the public to immediate pillaging of Jews and their property, Americans should be proud that the warnings by Jewish organizations such as the Anti-Defamation League of anti-Semitic outbreaks did not materialize here.</p>

<p>Pope John Paul II told U.S. Jews visiting the Vatican Monday Catholics are their friends and appealed to the faithful to "deepen the friendship."</p> <p>Members of both religions were under to obligation to practice neighborly love, the pontiff said in a meeting with representatives of the American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee. He called on the faithful to "deepen the friendship between the Jewish people and the Catholic Church."</p>
