American football player Aaron Hernandez has been taken from his home in handcuffs after a Boston semi-pro football player was found dead in an industrial park a mile from his house. Family members say the dead man, 27-year-old Odin Lloyd, was dating a woman whose sister is Hernandez's fiancee. Officials ruled the death a homicide but did not say how Lloyd died. It's unclear why Hernandez, who plays for the New England Patriots, was being taken into custody Wednesday morning and put into the back of a marked police car. State police have searched in and around Hernandez's home in...

BOSTON — More than a dozen State Police investigators swarmed the home of New England Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez on Saturday in connection with the death of semi-pro football player Odin Lloyd. A dozen police cars were pulled up to the football player’s home in North Attleboro just before 2 p.m. Members of the K-9 and State Police Crime Lab units were seen going into the home, while others remained outside. The large group of media staking out the scene was being kept back from the property. Reporters on scene said it appeared police were executing a search warrant....

The strange part of the circus that surrounds Tim Tebow's every move – including reports Monday that he's going to sign with the New England Patriots – is that he does so little to keep it alive. He doesn't court the media. He doesn't say outlandish things. He doesn't complain about coaching decisions or teammates. He doesn't publicly beg for another chance. Even the quarterback's outward displays of faith (Tebowing, for instance) are nothing that dozens of other NFL players don't do each week after scoring a touchdown. Tebow is a good soldier, a young player who never said he...

Good morning! I'm sorry to post a vanity here, but I have to share this music video with you, in case you haven't seen it. Madison Rising is the name of the young ROCK band - named after James Madison, believe it or not. The lead singer is a Navy Vet. This is their version of The Star Bangled Banner, and it's gorgeous, for any generation. I hope you like it. It's been on the facebook, but facebook has been removing it. I've been sharing it on all my accoutns and on the Tea Party Community page.

Have you ever wondered what happened to the 56 men who signed the Declaration of Independence? For the record, here's a portrait of the men who pledged "our lives, our fortunes and our sacred honor" for liberty many years ago. Fifty-six men from each of the original 13 colonies signed the Declaration of Independence on July 4, 1776. Nine of the signers were immigrants, two were brothers and two were cousins. One was an orphan. The average age of a signer was 45. Benjamin Franklin was the oldest delegate at 70. The youngest was Thomas Lynch Jr. of South Carolina...

SAVANNAH, Ga. May 5, 2013 (AP) Less than two months after British forces captured Savannah in December 1778, patriot militiamen scored a rare Revolutionary War victory in Georgia after a short but violent gunbattle forced British loyalists to abandon a small fort built on a frontiersman's cattle farm. More than 234 years later, archaeologists say they've pinpointed the location of Carr's Fort in northeastern Georgia after a search with metal detectors covering more than 4 square miles turned up musket balls and rifle parts as well as horse shoes and old frying pans. The February 1779 shootout at Carr's Fort...

Once upon a time, we were One Nation Under God. Sure, America had its faults, but overall things were fairly good and we worked to make improvements. The government understood that its purpose was to safeguard the Rights (note the capital “R”) with which we were endowed by our Creator; and most other legislative matters were left to the states per the 10th Amendment. America had public servants, but these people were just that – servants. They were there to uphold the Constitution. That was then. This is now. Today we have two nations, peopled separately by what I’ll call...

Tea partiers wouldn't have done it, because victims weren't 'black' The reason it’s unlikely a tea-party, patriot or right-wing group perpetrated the Boston Marathon bombing is because the victims weren’t “black people or Jewish people or gay people or Muslims,” claimed a senior fellow of the Southern Poverty Law Center earlier this week. The SPLC – a left-wing, nonprofit organization that describes itself as dedicated to fighting “bigotry” and monitoring domestic “hate groups” – keeps an eagle eye on tea-party, patriot, Christian, gun-rights and right-wing organizations, often insisting their fires are fueled by racism and hatred, rather than politics or...

America and her Patriots, the real threat to your “Rights and Freedoms” isn’t the North Korean leader Kim Jong Un. It is democrats, liberals, elitists, leftists, progressives, left wing-nuts, communists, socialists, gays, lesbians, leftist loons, mentally handicapped—meaning their vocabulary is so small it would fit in a navel cavity of a flea, Nazis, republican rhinos who are really democrat insider fools, traitors, anti-Americans, and yes last but not least my favorite—lying maggot politicians. This past Monday another state legislature populated by non other than liberal wing-nuts and some so-called republicans in name only of Connecticut purposely and illegally subverted the...

A few weeks ago, Rand Paul revived the talking filibuster in a scene reminiscent of the Frank Capra classic Mr. Smith Goes to Washington. He highlighted the Obama administration’s odd reluctance to state that it wouldn’t assassinate Americans on American soil with CIA-controlled drones for a full day, helped by fellow Senate Republicans such as Ted Cruz and Marco Rubio, among others, and also by Senate Democrat Ron Wyden. The White House finally gave a more specific answer to the question, and Paul raised public awareness on the drone issue, although it’s arguable what effect that actually had. If you...

Does it seem to you like there is far more strife within America in the last few years? Brother against brother, women against men, parents against children, neighbor against neighbor, race against race, faith against faith … You’re not imagining things. It’s happening. And a great deal of this strife can be directly or indirectly traced back to the government and its programs. How? Let’s examine this. It is the natural course for government (any government, really) to gain power by dismantling or neutralizing any restrictions placed upon it. In America, those restrictions are found in the Constitution and Bill...

Their official name is the Richmond County Tea Party Patriots -- and they arguably put Congressman Michael Grimm (R-NY) in office twice, first in 2010 when Tea Party supported this U.S. Marine veteran for the U.S. House, and again in 2012. Grimm won the 2010 general election for his district which covers both parts of New York City's Staten Island and Brooklyn with 51 percent of the vote. Ron Devito also created a video of the entire collection of speeches. It can be seen on YouTube.

Recent and accelerating changes in AmericaÂ’s social and political landscape have me pondering my chosen profession these days. IÂ’m not talking about the rumored craziness of the upcoming new DSM-V, the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual, Fifth Edition. Shrinks must struggle to come to grips with each one of these committee-generated monstrosities as they appear, even though their actual usefulness in practice grows increasingly suspect. Neither am I talking about the new, Byzantine complexities of the CPT billing codes that have come down on us like a plague of locusts as ObamaCare begins to work its transformational magic. I am also...
