OAKLAND, Calif. -- A car thief attempting to evade Oakland police made a disastrous miscalculation during a high speed chase and plowed into multiple vehicles, killing one elderly woman and injuring six others, according to police. At 10:50 a.m., police attempted to pull over a stolen Toyota with a driver and three passengers. The speeding car smashed into two other cars, one parked, at 62nd Avenue and Foothill Blvd in Oakland, police said.
