WASHINGTON - An off-duty United States Secret Service officer was killed Tuesday in a shooting in southwest D.C. Police say USSS Uniformed Division Officer Arthur Baldwin was shot and killed around 2:45 p.m. in the 4700 block of 1st Street. The circumstances surrounding the shooting are unclear at this time. Baldwin was charged with first-degree attempted burglary and destruction of property in an incident from April of this year. Five foreign nationals were arrested on the Ohio Turnpike, WKBN in Youngstown reported.The arrests happened Friday in Braceville Township in Trumbull County.The Ohio State Highway Patrol said troopers pulled over a car going east on the turnpike for making an improper lane change. An Army blimp broke loose from its mooring at Aberdeen Proving Grounds in Maryland around noon and is now being tracked by two U.S. fighter jets, the Pentagon said Wednesday. The untethered device is part of what's known as a JLENS, or Joint Land Attack Cruise Missile Defense Elevated Netted Sensor System. An Indiana University student was arrested over the weekend after police say he attacked a Muslim woman, yelling racially charged comments at her and trying to remove her headscarf.
