Trump called Vladimir Putin's intervention there "a wonderful thing."New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie (R) called Donald Trump's position on Syria "painfully naive" on Sunday, slamming him for welcoming Russian President Vladimir Putin's intervention in that country. Christie suggested on ABC's "This Week" that Trump's apparent support for Russian airstrikes amounted to "agreeing with Barack Obama." "Only Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton could mess up this foreign policy that badly," the Republican presidential candidate added. "And anybody who agrees with allowing the Russians into the Middle East is just painfully naive." In truth, President Obama has been extremely critical of Putin's...

Todd Park, the former chief technology officer of the United States, and Mikey Dickerson, who led a team of 60 engineers at Google and supervised the crew that fixed the Healthcare.gov website last year. Since that time, Park and Dickerson have been steadily recruiting an elite digital corps—a startup team, essentially, built mainly from the ranks of top private-sector companies—and embedding them within the U.S. government. Their purpose is to remake the digital systems by which government operates, to implement the kind of efficiency and agility and effectiveness that define Silicon Valley’s biggest successes, across everything from the IRS to...

Vice President Joe Biden is throwing his unequivocal support behind letting transgender people serve openly in the U.S. military, as the Obama administration considers whether and when to lift the longstanding ban. Biden's declaration at the Human Rights Campaign's annual dinner Saturday goes further than anything the Obama administration has said before, evoking memories of when Biden outpaced President Barack Obama in endorsing gay marriage. Although the White House says Obama supports a Pentagon review aimed at ending the transgender ban, neither Obama nor the military has said definitively that the policy will be changed. "No longer is there any...

Drivers on I-94 passing by Tomah will now see a billboard that says "VA is Lying, Vets Are Dying," as part of a national campaign to bring awareness to alleged issues within the VA system. The group behind the billboards is called "VA is Lying," and multiple billboards, like the one in Tomah, have been displayed in places like Tampa and Minneapolis. Candace Baer-Delis lost her father at the Tomah VA in January and is a member of the group. Baer-Delis is from Marshfield and took part in the unveiling of the billboard on Monday. "It's a project that was...

Still, some gun-control advocates say Obama could do more than talk. "We believe that on a few very specific fronts they can do more to crack down on bad-apple gun dealers, the very small percentage of gun dealers who sell almost every crime gun in the U.S.," said Dan Gross, president of the Brady campaign. "The ATF has the power to crack down on them and pull their licenses if they are responsible for business practices that wind up causing gun crime and gun violence." The White House could also lead a national conversation on the public health and safety...

John King Jr. was a miserable failure as Commissioner of Education in New York. He waylaid his failure in New York into the assistant’s job in the US Department of Education. He will be the new Secretary of Education. King came to New York as an extremely well-educated egghead with little educational experience and none in public schools. He implemented Common Core in a bizarre manner and blamed the horrendous results on New York’s “ignorant” children. Even though New York’s standards were the highest in the nation, he claimed the students were not used to high standards. He tied...

There’s an illness sweeping the country and even the White House has succumbed to it: No coherent identityitis. In the way that the media highlights and frames mass shootings as a sort of ghoulish entertainment and ignores far more serious events, you might have missed the connection between the shootings in Oregon and Obama’s conduct this week. There’s a great deal of commonality between those murders and the disaster in the Middle East that Obama touched off with his ridiculous Arab Spring and Iran deal, a disaster that certainly has resulted in many more deaths and holds out the terrible...

While Europe nations from the Balkans to Scandinavia are attempting to cope with at least hundreds of thousands of refugees already on the continent, the leaders of the three largest Christian Churches in all of Christendom, albeit to various degrees, are exhorting the faithful to assist the migrants. While the Pontiff of Rome, the Ecumenical Patriarch of Constantinople, and the Patriarch of Moscow and all Rus' have expressed varying degrees of support for the migrants, the pushback is coming from an unexpected source; the Christian laity. As reported by Ilgin Karlidag of the new media Turkish Weekly news portal on...

The Obama administration tried to persuade Argentina to “provide the Islamic State of Iran with nuclear fuel” back in 2010. President Christina Fernandez de Kirchner made these accusations during her speech this week to the General Assembly. Nuclear fuel is a key component in nuclear weapons. This United States mainstream media ignored this story for some odd reason?

Three years ago, Obama ridiculed Mitt Romney’s statement that Russia remained America’s main foe, taunting: “The 1980s are calling to ask for their foreign policy back.”

ROSEBURG, Ore. (Reuters) - The first thing customers entering the Roseburg Gun Shop see is a life-sized cardboard cutout of President Barack Obama with a Middle Eastern scarf around his head and a badge pinned to his chest that reads: "Gun salesman of the year."The customers and sales staff in this store, located 10 miles (16 km) from Umpqua Community College, where a gunman killed nine people and injured nine others on Thursday, said they were horrified by the shootings. But they were not buying the president’s argument that guns were the problem.

From warfare to lawfare The words used to describe Obama in countries in the Middle East plus Ukraine include “unreliable”, “skittish”, “weak in negotiations” and “feeble in foreign policy.” Best evidence that these words have real meaning can be seen in the “words not action” policy of the Obama Administration when it comes to Syria. On August 20, 2012, Obama said, “We have been very clear to the Assad regime but also to other players that a red line for us is seeing a whole lot of chemical weapons being moved around or utilized. That would change my calculus.”

Hey, America! There's a new Marshal in town Blue Helmet United Nations personnel will be replacing municipal police forces whose ranks have been harassed and hollowed out over the last year by Obama activists in groups like #BlackLivesMatter. Marxism always moves in to fill the vacuum left behind by anarchy. Like all things named by the UN, the ‘Strong Cities Network’ (SCN) sounds benign and good for society, a society distracted from what is really going on by their own self-serving governments. The Strong Cities Network is being launched in a day when millions of illegal aliens are flooding American...

"Transgender people are valued[.] ... They are us," Hillary Rodham Clinton (HRC) intoned, speaking before the Human Rights Campaign (HRC), the leading group supporting homosexual men, lesbians, bisexuals, "gender fluids," transvestites, and probably more. The only thing unclear is, who are the "us"? Mrs. Clinton, who has never been particularly supportive of homosexual marriage or transgender rights, until President Obama changed his mind on these matters, is now striving to portray herself as a longtime supporter of homosexuality. Mrs. Clinton's attacks on Republicans came with some levity that played well in the crowd assembled in a ballroom at the Mayflower...

I’ve outsourced my post today to Neo-Neocon and Rudyard Kipling, both of whom, in their own way, have written about black holes: Nature abhors a vacuumFirst, Neo: she wrote an excellent article discussing the enigma that is our magic negro president. Nature abhors a vacuumIt continues the ongoing debate of whether Barry is a fool or a knave (spoiler alert: they are not mutually exclusive). And she includes interesting insights from various other authors: In my recent post exploring the life and work of the remarkable Brit F. L. Lucas, I came across a quotation that’s particularly apt: “One may question...

LONDON: Russian President Vladimir Putin is reportedly sending 150,000 soldiers to Syria to wipe out the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS). Raqqa is the self-declared capital of ISIS which is patrolled by as many as 5,000 jihadi members. Putin is set to mobilise 150,000 reservists whom he conscripted into the military earlier this week.

HONOLULU, Oct. 2 (UPI) -- An undisclosed number of F-22 Raptors of the Hawaii Air National Guard and the U.S. Air Force have been deployed to the Middle East for as long as six months. The Hawaii Air National Guard, or HIANG, said the deployment of most of the fighters and more than 200 personnel from Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam in Honolulu took place Sept. 26 but was kept secret for security considerations. The aircraft and personnel are now in an unidentified location in the region, which is in the area of responsibility of the U.S. Central Command. "Because of...

KABUL, Afghanistan (AP) — Confusion reigned in the wake of the deadly bombing Saturday of a hospital compound in the northern Afghan city of Kunduz that killed at least 19 people and wounded dozens more. It remains unclear exactly who bombed the hospital run by Doctors Without Borders and the international medical charity has demanded an investigation into the incident.Doctors Without Borders said that "all indications" pointed to the international military coalition as responsible for the bombing and called for an independent investigation. U.S. Defense Secretary Ash Carter said an inquiry was underway into whether the carnage at the clinic...

They’re Nigeria’s unlikely saviors – most being white, in their 50s and 60s and combat veterans of the former South African apartheid regime. But, tainted resumes notwithstanding, they’ve been getting the job done in northern Nigeria, hitting the Islamist terror group Boko Haram hard enough to send the jihadists into retreat, liberating dozens of villages and freeing hundreds of women and girls held as slaves and “bush wives” during a six-year-long reign of terror, reported London Telegraph. Boko Haram recently pledged allegiance to the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria, or ISIS. In recent years, Boko Haram has slaughtered entire...
