Mufid A. Elfgeeh, a 30-year-old man who owns a food store in upstate New York, has been arrested and charged with funding Islamic terrorist group ISIS, attempting to send jihadists to fight with them in Syria and even plotted to gun down U.S. troops, according to Federal authorities. The Democrat & Chronicle reports that Elfgeeh is the nephew of Abad Elfgeeh, an ice-cream shop owner who was arrested in Brooklyn in 2003, after being accused of being deeply involved in a terrorism network. “To the Lone Wolves in America: How to Make a Bomb in Your Kitchen, to Create Scenes of Horror in Tourist Spots and Other Targets.” Why would they want to “create scenes of horror”? Could it have anything to do with the Qur’an’s command to “strike terror into the hearts of the enemies of Allah (8:60)?

Mayor de Blasio’s progressive reputation has spread to Europe. The mayor is traveling to England next week to speak at the Labor Party’s annual conference about his signature issue — income inequality. The organizers will pay for the mayor and two staffers to fly over, according to City Hall. Also attending will be his NYPD detail. Their expenses, as always, will be paid by taxpayers. It’s not a long trip. De Blasio will arrive in Manchester on the day of the speech, Sept. 24, and leave that night. The left-of-center Labor Party is one of Britain’s two major political parties,...

Supporters of the Islamic State terror group are being urged to attack Times Square and other popular American tourist attractions with easily assembled homemade bombs, according to a disturbing report Tuesday. A message posted on an ISIS Web forum lists widely available ingredients needed to build a pipe bomb, and includes photos showing how to combine them into a deadly explosive device, Vocativ reported. The Arabic-language message cites Times Square — the scene of a failed car-bomb attack in 2010 by al Qaeda sympathizer Faisal Shahzad — and the Las Vegas Strip as prime targets, but also suggests striking sites...

Illegal aliens in New York could score billions in Medicaid and college-tuition money — along with driver’s licenses, voting rights and even the ability to run for office — if Democrats win control of the state Senate in November, the Post has learned. A little-known bill, dubbed “New York is Home,” would offer the most sweeping amnesty available anywhere in the country to nearly 3 million noncitizens living in the Empire State.

A group of 10 black youths — one of them a 12-year-old girl — surrounded a white couple's car in Brooklyn, viciously beating the husband and yanking the wife to the pavement by her hair as they peppered the two with racial slurs, authorities said. “Get those crackers!” some of them screamed, according to court papers. “Get that white whore!” The confrontation erupted about 7 p.m. Monday, as the marauding group crossed Avenue U at E. 58th St. near Kings Plaza Shopping Center in Mill Basin. Ronald Russo, 30, and his wife, Alanna, apparently had the green light and the...

There was only one dignitary at the 9/11 ceremony who didn’t place a hand on her heart during “The Star-Spangled Banner” — and it was the same person who once refused to stand for the Pledge of Allegiance. It was Melissa Mark-Viverito, speaker of the City Council. A photo of the anniversary event shows a line of officials, including Gov. Cuomo, Mayor de Blasio and former Mayors Mike Bloomberg and Rudy Giuliani, honoring the anthem by putting their hands over their hearts. Cuomo’s girlfriend, Sandra Lee, has both hands over her heart. But Mark-Viverito stands with her hands clasped in...

New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio is coming under sharp criticism for making decisions that may have undermined the effectiveness of his police department’s counter-terrorism operations. Thirteen years after the 9/11 attacks on Manhattan, prominent security experts say de Blasio has made fighting terrorism a lower priority in order to appease the communities that helped elect him. “A classic case of taking your eye off the ball at the worst possible time is Mayor de Blasio in New York,” said John Lehman, a former member of the 9/11 Commission. He said de Blasio is failing to take seriously enough...

In a stunning op-ed released Friday, the NY Times finally admitted that “assault weapons” are a made-up political term fabricated by anti-gun Democrats. Op-ed writer Lois Beckett also admitted that once the term was manufactured and used to outlaw a class of weapons that dishonest anti-gun Democrats had used to con an entire nation, nothing happened.

A race-baiting councilwoman in New York stormed out of a public meeting last week after a police sergeant called her out for trying to foment a riot. “You can’t talk about public safety and assist in public unrest,” said Troy, N.Y., police Sgt. Thomas Hoffman, who took the microphone Thursday at a Troy City Council meeting to describe Councilwoman Anastasia Robertson’s actions. According to Hoffman, the incident occurred when two white police officers patrolling a largely black neighborhood investigated a romantic dispute between two women, one white, one black. The white woman left the scene, Hoffman said, so the officers...

The crushing news came less than a year after Diane Robinson and her 24-year-old son moved into an airy two-bedroom apartment in the Bronx. The city, which helps pay her rent, wrote this summer to say she would have to downsize into a one-bedroom apartment or pay $240 more a month in rent. A public school aide, Ms. Robinson, 48, decided to stay in the apartment, in the Castle Hill neighborhood. But on an annual income of about $25,000, she is struggling, she said, and she does not know how long she can hang on. Moving to a one-bedroom apartment...
