On April 6, Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America mocked the NRA for planning to follow state and local laws regarding gun possession and display at the upcoming NRA Annual Meeting & Exhibits in Nashville. Moms Demand Action did this based on the fact that display guns at vendor’s booths are required to have their firing pins removed. Once Moms Demand Action saw that this was the case, they then mocked the NRA for “being ok with loaded guns on playgrounds and in bars and school, but not at their convention.”

The National Rifle Association wants guns at schools, but not its own annual convention. The NRA has banned working guns from its annual convention this year in Nashville, Tenn., according to a report in The Tennessean. Instead the group will require the thousands of firearms displayed at the event to be nonoperational, with their firing pins removed to ensure safety. The group will use the event, with an expected attendance of 70,000, to boast of its opposition to gun regulation of all kinds, including background checks, as well as to host GOP presidential hopefuls who agree with their stance. However...

I like most of the policies Cruz is pursuing, but I feel uncomfortable receiving a signed email from him to an email address I only share with family asking for money. What's up with that?

The myriad selection of rifle cartridges today has a metric ton of overlap, duplication, and some downright silly designs. Some of these designs boast wonderful claims, but not all of them measure up. In order to be overrated, you have to be rated at all, so that leaves some of the more obscure designs off the menu. I’m well aware that I’m going to be taking a lot of flak for this article, no matter which cartridges I were to pick, so let me give you some details to start with. When you sit down to make your voodoo doll...

West Virginia’s Democratic Gov. Earl Ray Tomblin vetoed a bipartisan bill that would have broadened the scope of concealed carry of guns by law-abiding citizens. “The notion that the citizen is the best line of defense against crimes against himself is one I can’t support,” Tomblin said. “Citizens aren’t properly trained. Allowing them to arm themselves only complicates matters for legitimate law enforcement personnel. If both the perps and their victims are armed how will the police know who to shoot when they arrive on the scene?” The governor also expressed skepticism about the adage “that when seconds count, the...

The federal bureaucracy, in the form of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms, recently announced a ban on ammunition used in AR-15 rifles, which are among the most common firearms in America, but then suddenly backed off. So breathe a sigh of relief and move on? Not if you like the Second Amendment, according to a National Rifle Association commentator. Colion Noir, a practicing attorney who graduated from the University of Houston, has been described by the Los Angeles Times as someone who doesn’t fit the stereotype of NRA members: “Old, fat, white guys.” “At 29, he’s not...

Gun rights groups are making a vigorous push to stop the Senate from confirming Loretta Lynch as President Obama’s next attorney general. Advocates are organizing petitions, drawing up letters and hitting the phones to urge Senate Republicans to oppose Lynch in a floor vote that could take place as early as next week. The National Rifle Association (NRA) has sent an alert to its members warning that Obama’s nominee would put gun rights at risk. "As the nation's top law enforcement officer, Lynch would almost certainly have an impact on our Second Amendment rights,” the NRA’s lobbying arm said in...

Well what do you know? Hell hath frozen over and we eagerly await a squadron of monkeys flying from my butt: Our gun-running attorney general, Eric Holder, and I agree on something. Regarding the shooting of the two Ferguson, Missouri, police officers by a rabid punk, Mr. Holder stated, “This was a damn punk, a punk, who was trying to sow discord.” Well, there you have it. I concur wholeheartedly with Mr. Holder. It was comforting to know that this time Mr. Holder and his boss did not blame the shooting on green-tipped bullets, my arsenal of deer rifles, the...
