The Trump campaign appears to be riding high and operating optimistically headed into the final week of the presidential campaign. The clearest sign of that comes in the form of a $25 million ad buy that includes new spots in Pennsylvania, Michigan and New Mexico, all of which are classified as leaning Democratic in the current ABC News state ratings. The only of those three states that has recent reputable polling is Pennsylvania, the latest of which has Clinton leading by six points in the Oct. 16 Quinnipiac survey. Michigan hasn't voted Republican since 1988 and New Mexico has only...

These are turbulent times. More and more Americans express frustration and disillusionment today with the political institutions that govern the nation. They clamor for an alternative to the incestuous and pernicious atmosphere dominating the capital. They see a vast array of lobbyists, elected officials and entrenched interests manipulating the levers of power for their own enrichment at the expense of ordinary citizens. The discontent isn’t confined by ideology or political philosophy. A Wisconsin woman is giving a whole new meaning to “political smear campaign.” Christina Ferguson, 32, a Hillary Clinton supporter, was arrested Monday night and charged with disorderly conduct after allegedly smearing peanut butter on approximately 30 vehicles parked outside what she thought was a Donald Trump rally. After bursting in – a “family-size jar of low-sodium, creamy natural Jif” in hand – Ferguson began yelling that she hated Donald Trump. When she was booted from the building, the passionate partisan proceeded to spread peanut butter on vehicles in the parking lot. But those cars had nothing to do with...

Demographic shifts already have transformed Nevada into a swing state in recent presidential elections and given Democrats an edge in voter registration. They have also made the Silver State the latest testing site for Michael R. Bloomberg’s attempt to pass a law requiring background checks for gun sales between private parties, including those conducted over the Internet. Polling indicates Bloomberg may have bet correctly. The Las Vegas Review-Journal released a poll earlier this month showing 58% of likely registered voters supported Question 1, which would require people like Leal to run background checks on buyers. Three other polls released since...

The tight supply picture emerging as electric cars, mega-batteries and massive energy storage solutions become the cornerstones of our lives could be on the edge of turning new lithium explorers into the next barons.
