Sen. Ben Nelson (D-Neb.) deserves the Congressional Medal of Honor if he ends up blocking health reform legislation, one of his Senate colleagues said Friday. Sen. Jim DeMint (R-S.C.) said the pressure on Democrats had reached unprecedented levels, and that Nelson, a key centrist lawmaker who leaders need to reach 60 votes, had been heroic in refusing to sign onto the bill as of yet. LINCOLN -- Two state senators hailed the signing of a new law on carrying handguns as a way to make certain law-abiding citizens aren't breaking the law. Nebraska has had a concealed carry law for three years. More than 4,500 permits have been issued. But State Sens.
