Watched NBC Nightly News with Lester Holt last night (Thursday, August 18th). Lester's last segment was on how the USA women were winning more medals than the men in Rio 2016. They showed a variety of photos of different women who have won medals - but I noticed that they didn't include Ginny Thrasher and Kim Rhode, air rifle and skeet shooter respectively, in the segment. They've won medals too -- Gold Medal for Thrasher and 4 or 5 career Olympic medals for Rhode, including one in Rio. The NBC Nightly News website shows last night broadcast, but it does...

Despite his fall from prominence due to serial lying and removal from the anchor desk of NBC Nightly News, current MSNBC breaking news anchor Brian Williams will be given another chance to rein over a daily news program when, according to CNN’s Brian Stelter, MSNBC awards him a half-hour show at 11:00 p.m. at a date to be determined. Stelter reported late Monday night that Williams's program will be slated to run from Labor Day to Election Day and last for only a half-hour "wrapping up the day's campaign news, the sources said." Of course, this brings to mind Williams’s...

NBC News has added an “editor’s note” to its report in which Andrea Mitchell called Juanita Broaddrick rape claims “discredited,” after revelations that the network deleted that word from its video. The Washington Free Beacon reported Tuesday that NBC News had stealth-edited Mitchell’s segment in May to remove the line where Mitchell said Broaddrick’s claim that Bill Clinton raped her had been “discredited.” On Tuesday, the NBC News website made no mention that the video had been altered. “Donald Trump is getting some heat from Hillary Clinton’s campaign after using the term ‘rape’ while talking about a long-denied allegation of...

In a breaking story posted late Tuesday afternoon by our friends at the Washington Free Beacon, staff writer and former CNS News staff writer Elizabeth Harrington revealed that NBC News has stealth edited a May 19 video of Clinton campaign correspondent Andrea Mitchell on Today denouncing Juanita Broaddrick’s sexual allegations against Bill Clinton as “a discredited and long-denied accusation” to merely being a “long-denied accusation.” Mitchell’s original phrasing was flagged the day that it aired live on NBC by the MRC’s Kyle Drennen and he chronicled the network’s history concerning Broaddrick and Clinton. Since Harrington published her story at 4:48...

Part of the cache of emails from top DNC officials reveals that DNC Chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz took issue with the negative coverage coming from MSNBC’s Mika Brzezinski, going so far as to email NBC’s Chuck Todd to tell the anchor that it “must stop.” The email was sent on May 18 to Todd with the subject “Chuck, this must stop.” In the email, Wasserman Schultz forwards Todd an article from Breitbart‘s Ian Hanchett glossing the criticism Wasserman Schultz had received from the Morning Joe co-host. Brzenzinski is quoted as saying that Wasserman Schultz “should step down” over her poor...

Sunday on NBC’s “Meet the Press,” MSNBC anchor, and commentator Andrea Mitchell said, the “awful egging of the Trump supporter in San Jose” can not be separated “from the egging on” Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump does at his rallies.

Trump acknowledged that he “had a feeling that question was going to come up” and proceeded toe the liberal line of political correctness: “Well, look, North Carolina did something that was very strong and they're paying a big price and there's a lot of problems....People go, they use the bathroom that they feel is appropriate. There has been so little trouble.” ... Fellow co-host Savannah Guthrie turned to the subject of abortion: “The Republican platform, every four years, has a provision that states that the right of the unborn child shall not be infringed. And it makes no exceptions for...

On today’s Meet the Press, Chuck Todd helped perpetuate the myth that Planned Parenthood provides mammograms. Interviewing Donald Trump, Todd said “Democrats will say the money they give to Planned Parenthood does not go to abortions. That the money they give to Planned Parenthood only goes to other women’s health issues including mammograms and things like that.†Let’s make this absolutely clear: Planned Parenthood does not perform mammograms. Its own FAQ on the matter makes that clear. Even the Washington Post says “the myth that Planned Parenthood actually offers mammogram X-rays to patients has been long debunked, and needs to...

The Republican National Committee (RNC) officially voted on Monday afternoon to sever its business relationship with NBC News for the previously-scheduled Feb. 26, 2016, GOP presidential primary debate, Breitbart News has learned. The Debate Committee for the RNC met via conference call and after hearing updates from RNC chairman Reince Priebus officially voted to cancel the partnership with NBC, according to sources on the call. The vote was unanimous. After the October debate hosted by NBC partner CNBC—in which co-moderator John Harwood was roundly criticized for a poor performance—the RNC suspended its relationship with NBC News over that upcoming Houston...

The United States presidential election of 1980 was the 49th quadrennial presidential election. It was held on Tuesday, November 4, 1980. The contest was between incumbent Democratic President Jimmy Carter and his Republican opponent, former California Governor Ronald Reagan, as well as Republican Congressman John B. Anderson, who ran as an independent. Reagan, aided by the Iran hostage crisis and a worsening economy at home marked by high unemployment and inflation, won the election in a landslide, receiving the highest number of electoral votes ever won by a non-incumbent presidential candidate.

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) said Tuesday that it is investigating reports that a supervisor used government time to recruit workers for private sex swinger parties at his home. An internal misconduct investigation is looking into the claims centered on workers in San Diego, ICE spokeswoman Lauren Mack told NBC News in a statement. It follows a report by the San Diego Union Tribune that an accusation of gross sexual misconduct was made in a complaint submitted to the Inspector General for the Department of Homeland Security earlier this year. The newspaper said employees at the ICE Enforcement Removal...

NEW YORK -- Former NBC News anchor Brian Williams will return to the air on Sept. 22 as part of MSNBC's coverage of Pope Francis' visit to the United States. I was wondering why a polling outfit (CNN/ORC) is now all of a sudden trusted by conservatives? If not, then say so. If it is all of a sudden now trusted by conservatives...I thought that CNN is a liberal outfit and not to be trusted? Limbaugh seems to be going after CNN for their Morten Downey Jr. documentary on TV as somehow being used to juxtapose against Trump, and for their interviews of Trump supporters, and wondering if they are going to hand-pick the worst of the worst in those interviews to somehow paint all Trump supporters in a negative...

The latest dump of Hillary Clinton’s emails reveals that as Secretary of State, a source within “Meet the Press” was feeding her questions in advance. A July 2009 email to Clinton reads, “I just heard from a friend who is wired at Meet the Press that David Gregory is going to ask you about…” — Heads up -> pic.twitter.com/AOiJw6c5Sz — Charlie Spiering (@charliespiering) July 31, 2015 — The mainstream media is notorious when it comes to hitting Republicans with tough questions. It is almost always about dropping them in a rhetorical, no-win box, “How is gay marriage different from segregation?”,...

Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker is expected to make a big announcement Monday, but it seems he gave away the surprise last week in a tweet. On Friday, Walker tweeted a black-and-white photo of himself waving on a stage with the words "Scott Walker is running for president," according to Politico. The tweet has since been taken down, but Walker sent a few more presidential-sounding messages afterward, including one showing "the official campaign logo." Walker is set to make the announcement at 5 p.m. Monday in the Milwaukee suburb of Waukesha. Campaign aides revealed to the Associated Press in early July...

Brian Williams: 'I’m Sorry. I Said Things That Weren’t True' by Lisa de Moraes “I’m sorry. I said things that weren’t true. I let down my NBC colleagues and our viewers, and I’m determined to earn back their trust,” Brian Williams said this morning in a stunning apology that accompanied the network’s announcement he is returning to the air but not the NBC Nightly News anchor chair. “I will greatly miss working with the team on Nightly News, but I know the broadcast will be in excellent hands with Lester Holt as anchor. I will support him 100% as he...

NBC is planning to announce on Thursday that Brian Williams will not return to his position as the anchor of its “Nightly News” show, four months after the network suspended him for exaggerating his role in a helicopter incident in Iraq, according to two people briefed on the discussions. Mr. Williams is expected to move to a new role primarily at the cable news network MSNBC, probably in a breaking-news capacity in the beginning, according to one of the people. Lester Holt, who has been filling in for Mr. Williams as anchor, will take on the position permanently, one...
