Allow me the smallest of vanities, but I had to make this in honor of President-Elect Trump's victory on Election Day.

A San Francisco man protested Donald Trump's astounding presidential victory by mounting a Nazi flag above his house on Wednesday. The Dolores Heights homeowner, who asked to remain anonymous, stressed that he neither supports the President-elect nor Nazis. Instead the red flag with the Swastika was akin to a harbinger of trouble that Trump's win could usher in. The flag was taken down around 2 p.m. Wednesday and replaced with a California flag after the homeowner received angry phone calls and was confronted by an irate neighbor. The woman told him that she was very hurt because her grandparents were...

Rick Steves October 31 at 5:27pm · .. Hitler was all the rage in 1932. Here’s a short clip (with a daring little pun buried inside) from one of the new episodes of my TV show, airing now across the country on public television and online at www.ricksteves.com/tv. We had a fascinating time filming the Nazi Documentation Center in Hitler’s favorite city, Nürnberg. It’s fascinating (and, hopefully, instructive) to think of the tenor of those turbulent times in Germany and how Hitler came to power. His specialty: huge rallies, stoking the fears of angry masses (especially fears of minorities), and...

France’s government last week announced the creation of a highly controversial new database that will collect and store personal information on nearly everyone living in the country who holds a French identity card or passport. The massive database, known as Secure Electronic Documents (Titres électroniques sécurisés or TES), was decreed by the government on October 30 in an effort to crack down on identity theft. The move sparked immediate outrage in the French media, with weekly magazine L’Observateur describing it as “terrifying”, and daily newspaper Libération calling it a “mega database that will do no good”. The TES will affect...

Josh Feldman at Mediaite pointed out that star PBS filmmaker Ken Burns is out on cable television ranting the liberal line again. The program was Amanpour on CNN International after the debate on Thursday. Christiane Amanpour, his fellow Obama enthusiast, was interviewing him about his latest PBS documentary on saving Jews from the Nazis, which they both naturally thought offered Republican parallels. First, they freaked out about Trump refusing to concede defeat 20 days before the voting ends and before anyone knows who won: AMANPOUR: What do you make first and foremost of the major Republican candidate refusing to accept...

Turkey to unearth German-made WWII-era Focke-Wulf fighters, buried 'upon US request' METIN CAN ISTANBUL viation enthusiasts hope to shed light on a bizarre chapter in the history of the Republic of Turkey with the excavation of an area in the central city of Kayseri. The site, at a now-defunct airport currently used as a military headquarters, is allegedly home to more than fifty Focke-Wulf FW-190s imported from Germany that were reportedly "buried" after they were decommissioned some 70 years ago. Although aviation experts dispute the improbability of the burial of the single-seat fighter aircrafts en masse and claim they were...

A Houston lawyer wearing a Nazi uniform— evidently facing issues with his firm — opened fire near a strip mall, wounding nine people before he was shot dead by police, authorities said. Shots rang out around 6:30 a.m. local time in southwest Houston near an intersection with a grocery store, Walgreens and Chuck E. Cheese. The attacker used a tree near his car for cover as he exchanged gunfire with several officers in a nearby neighborhood before he was killed, officials said at an afternoon press conference.

An Indian Navy Sea Hawk taking off from INS Vikrant | Photo: The personal collection of Commander G.V.K. Unnithan (retired), Indian Navy If this were fiction, it could hardly be a more remarkable story. But a decorated ex-Nazi-turned arms dealer actually sold fighter aircraft to both India and Pakistan, which were facing an arms embargo after the ’65 war. The episode is recorded in the authoritative books, The Shadow World: Inside the Global Arms Trade, written by former South African MP Andrew Feinstein, and earlier, Private Warriors, written by Ken Silverstein and Daniel Burton-Rose. It is also narrated in detail...

Spawn beheads both Trump and the Nazi villain, Then he swaps their heads, putting one on top of the other’s body. “That’s more accurate! And Donald, you look great again! If I do say so myself,” Spawn says, according to an image of the panel obtained by Bleeding Cool....

It was rare for us to see him in the mornings,” says Brunhilde Pomsel, her eyes closed and chin in her hand as she recalls her former boss. “He’d walk up the steps from his little palace near the Brandenburg Gate, on to which his huge propaganda ministry was attached. He’d trip up the steps like a little duke, through his library into his beautiful office on Unter den Linden.” She smiles at the image, noting how elegant the furniture was, the carefree atmosphere where she sat in an ante-chamber off Joseph Goebbels’ office with five other secretaries, how his...

Daniel Kawczynski, Member of Foreign Affairs Select Committee and Chairman of the All Party Group for Poland, is the latest high profile Member of Parliament to call for a change in the relationship between NATO and Russia, specifically asking for a reversal of the military build-up on the Russian and NATO borders and a de-escalation of the recent tensions. Mr. Kawczynski, writing in a letter to the Telegraph newspaper, said whilst acknowledging that many in the London political circles “are suspicious of Russian motives and intentions” and see Russia as “causing concern for European security particularly over her actions in...

... In return for more spending, Mrs. Clinton could have offered serious structural reforms: repeal of Davis-Bacon, time limits on environmental reviews, serious cost-benefit analysis, and so forth. Such a package would have been irresistible. Instead her plan simply asserts that Mrs. Clinton will “break through Washington gridlock” and “cut red tape”—promises made and forgotten by every presidential candidate in living memory. If the Sierra Club sues to block her worthy commitment to “upgrade our dams and levees,” will she really short-circuit the legal process, and how? The rest of Mrs. Clinton’s economic agenda is a thousand-course smorgasbord of government...
