Nelson Shanks, who painted a portrait of former President Bill Clinton in 2006, revealed in an interview published Sunday that there's more to the image than meets the eye, including a reference to the Monica Lewinsky scandal. "The reality is he's probably the most famous liar of all time," Shanks told the Philadelphia Daily News. "He and his administration did some very good things, of course, but I could never get this Monica thing completely out of my mind and it is subtly incorporated in the painting." Shanks explained that a shadow covering the Oval Office mantel in the painting...

**SNIP** The country’s 42nd president was “terrified” to be painted by Shanks, who has done portraits of Princess Diana and Pope John Paul II. But he hid all fears with a relaxed smirk and bold stance. The work now hangs in the National Portrait Gallery. When Clinton was not in the room, Shanks says he set up a mannequin sporting a blue dress he likened to Lewinsky.

In what may be the most unlikely duo to show up at any Golden Globes after party, The Good Wife Star Alan Cumming attended HBO's Sunday night soiree arm-in-arm with none other than Monica Lewinsky. The odd couple looked to be having a great time, with the one-time political hopeful all in black and the Broadway performer in an all nude-colored suit. It was a rare, and high profile, glimpse at the duo who've been the best of friends since not long after Lewinsky became the country's most infamous intern.

RUSH: Monica Lewinsky, speaking of rejection, let me tell you something. It's about time that somebody -- well, this is gonna be hard, because, look, there's a plausible explanation for her being messed up. You know that long, detailed monologue I did on the day we had that blockbuster story that WMD's were found in Iraq and that Karl Rove and people in the White House had made an active political decision to cover up the discovery ... So, in a certain sense, Monica Lewinsky has been a victim of similar things with what the Democrat Party and the willing...

me is Monica Lewinsky. Though I have often been advised to change it, or asked why on earth I haven’t. But, there we are. I haven’t." Monica Lewinsky spoke at the Forbes Magazine 30 Under 30 Summit and spoke about the affair that almost brought down the Bill Clinton administration. In her 2,500 word speech she blamed her humiliation on the Drudge Report, Internet, Ken Starr, the NY Post's Page Six, everybody except for the married President with whom she had sexual relations. From the transcript: But back then, in 1995, we started an affair that lasted, on and off,...

An email from Monica Lewinsky was omitted from the Clinton library’s latest document dump for privacy reasons. Every two weeks this spring, the National Archives has been releasing documents from Clinton’s presidency through The William J Clinton Presidential Library & Museum in Little Rock, Ark. Included in a list of withdrawn/redacted documents, midway through a batch of documents concerning Gen. Wesley Clark, is an email from Monica Lewinsky’s Pentagon email address. Vaguely referenced as concerning a “medical record,” the omitted email is listed as four pages long.

Michael Isikoff, the left-wing journalist most famous for getting scooped on The Story of the Decade by Matt Drudge, is exiting NBC News ... It was during his time with Newsweek that Isikoff became yet-another icon of a mainstream media more interested in protecting power than holding power accountable. In 1998, Isikoff had uncovered the affair between then-President Bill Clinton and a young intern named Monica Lewinski. Newsweek, however, refused to publish the story. So Drudge did -- not the story but the news that Newsweek was refusing to explode its own bombshell... -- and an era in New Media...

Hillary Rodham Clinton's new book on her time as President Barack Obama's secretary of state will be released on June 10, her publisher says. Publisher Simon & Schuster said Wednesday that Clinton would share "candid reflections about key moments during her time as Secretary of State as well as her thoughts about how to navigate the challenges of the 21st century." Clinton's book has been widely anticipated as she considers another presidential campaign in 2016. The former first lady and New York senator is already a best-selling author: Her 2003 memoir, "Living History," sold more than 1 million copies.

Washington Post columnist Ruth Marcus suggested former President Bill Clinton was not entirely culpable for his affair with Monica Lewinsky Monday on MSNBC. The comment came in the context of a discussion about Sen. Rand Paul’s (R., Ky.) comments yesterday where he accused President Clinton of “predatory behavior” toward his former White House intern. Marcus said Republicans seem to address female sexuality only in the contexts of victimization or promiscuity. To evidence her point, Marcus added she did not believe Monica Lewinsky was an entirely “innocent victim” in the scandal. “I recall some thong flashing there,” she said. Full exchange:...

One of former President Bill Clinton’s ex-mistresses, Gennifer Flowers, claims that Bill told her Hillary Clinton was bisexual. Flowers, who hasn’t been relevant since 1992, came out during Clinton’s first presidential campaign and said that the two had had a 12-year affair while he was the governor of Arkansas. Clinton has long maintained that he only had one sexual encounter with Flowers. But in an interview with The Daily Mail published Thursday, Flowers, now 63 and definitely not desperate for fame, claims that she would still be with Clinton — “the love of [her] life” — had it not been...

10 September 1998 I became the virtual man I have become (ie jobim). That was an eventful year - Paula Jones, Monica, Ken Starr report, impeachment - but more importantly, it was the crescendo of scandals that revealed the flaw that even the towering genius of the Founding Fathers could not circumvent in crafting our blessed Constitution. That flaw was, and oh so woefully is, bad men with their hands on the reins. George Will said that Clinton was not necessarily the worst president, but the worst man ever to be president. But we can wax nostalgic about those days...

A suspect has been identified in the shooting rampage that left four people dead and one gravely injured Friday in various locations around Santa Monica, California and culminated on Santa Monica College Campus. One of those dead was the alleged shooter, whom the Los Angeles Times has identified as John Zawahri, citing five law enforcement sources in Los Angeles and Washington. Santa Monica Police Chief Jacqueline Seabrooks said at a press conference Saturday that the shooter was 23-years-old on Friday, and would have turned 24 on Saturday. She declined to identify him at this point, saying the family had not...

Monica Lewinsky is reportedly set to write a tell-all book about her affair with Bill Clinton - including her intimate love letters to the ex-president and how he had an insatiable desire for threesomes. The former White House intern, 39, reportedly wants revenge on Clinton, who she believes escaped unscathed while she has never been able to shake the disgrace of their Oval Office trysts. Friends claim publishers are scrambling to get their hands on the book, and after holding meetings, she has learned she could get as much a $12 million if she recounts every tawdry detail. While she...

Serving in...

CAIRO (Reuters) - Protesters threw tomatoes and shoes at U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton's motorcade on Sunday during her first visit to Egypt since the election of Islamist President Mohamed Mursi. A tomato struck an Egyptian official in the face, and shoes and a water bottle landed near the armoured cars carrying Clinton's delegation in the port city of Alexandria. A senior state department official said that neither Clinton nor her vehicle, which were around the corner from the incident, were struck by any of the projectiles. Protesters chanted: "Monica, Monica", a reference to Former President Bill Clinton's extra-marital...
