A dozen people have been injured as a bomb blast hits a city in southern Germany.

A 27-year-old Syrian man died when a bomb he was carrying in a rucksack went off outside a music festival in Germany and wounded 12 people, an official said. The man had been denied asylum in Germany a year ago, a top security official in Bavaria, where the incident took place, said early on Monday. Bavaria Interior Minister Joachim Herrmann said the man had tried to commit suicide twice before. "We don't know if this man planned on suicide or if he had the intention of killing others," Herrmann said.
