A 27-year-old Syrian man died when a bomb he was carrying in a rucksack went off outside a music festival in Germany and wounded 12 people, an official said.
The man had been denied asylum in Germany a year ago, a top security official in Bavaria, where the incident took place, said early on Monday.
Bavaria Interior Minister Joachim Herrmann said the man had tried to commit suicide twice before.
"We don't know if this man planned on suicide or if he had the intention of killing others," Herrmann said.

denied asylum in Germany a year ago,That is going to change. Too bad this is what it takes.
They need to have a new show on German cable TV called “Migrant Attack of the Week.”
I’d rather be posting about the beach.
Amazing what goes on there.
I recommend people cancel their German beach vacations.

“We don’t know if this man planned on suicide or if he had the intention of killing others,” Herrmann said.
We don’t know if Herrmann planned this propaganda or if he had the intention of misleading others.
Oh yeah, I always head for a heavily populated music festival while wearing a bomb vest when I want to commit suicide. Yeah, right....
Um... the machete kill is called a crime of passion by authorities and this rucksack bomber is said to have just wanted to commit suicide someplace with his own private bomb (but is accidently went off in a semi crowded rock concert area)?
WHISKEY TANGO!!! WHO THE!!!
When I lived At Subic Bay, there were rumors of fishermen stealing rockets from the hardstands at the Naval Magazine. From Banca’s like the one depicted, they detonated rockets and killed lots of fish
I visited NavMag many times and my regret today is that I did not observe the virgin Jungle closer.
Bavaria's top security official Joachim Herrmann said this morning that he believed the attacker was driven by religious extremism, adding: 'My personal view is that I unfortunately think it's very likely this really was an Islamist suicide attack.'
