The Old Courthouse, a powerful symbol for activists, is the site where the slave Dred Scott sued for his freedom in the landmark legal case that he eventually lost. Slave auctions also were held on the courthouse steps....

He created a way for them to safely store their self defense tools during the event they are attending. From fox2now.com: Hulsey calls it Mobile Safe Storage. He is outfitting a 22 foot-long step van with armor and security cameras and has hired...

Of them, Trump is leading polls in nine, according to the RealClearPolitics average, including some of the most important, winner-take-all states. The other states — Hawaii, Maine, Idaho, and Missouri — don't have any recent polls listed on the site. They're also the three states with the fewest delegates to award. And in Maine, Trump has the endorsement of Gov. Paul LePage.

INDEPENDENCE, Mo. (ChurchMilitant.com) - A Missouri state court has ruled in favor of the diocese of Kansas City-St. Joseph, upholding its right to fire an employee who publicly contracted a so-called gay marriage, as it opposes Church teaching. Before being hired by the diocese as director of social ministries at St. Francis Xavier Parish in 2013, Colleen Simon informed the director of religious education she was a lesbian and was told then that would not bar her from being employed there. But when an article in the Kansas City Star's 816 Magazine broke the story of her so-called marriage to...

The Republican senator officially began the campaign with a rally at Unico-SGI Manufacturing in Arnold, the first of a 10-stop, two-day tour across the state. Football players at the University of Massachusetts should go on strike. They should refuse to show up for practice or play in any more games this season until their demands are met. Their complaint is that they just can't win any football games. The team so far this season is 1-8, last year it was 3-9, the year before it was 1-11, the same as it was in 2012. So if the new president of UMass can't do anything about it, then he ought to resign, and the football players should refuse to play anymore games until he does so,...
