As the protest over his death has reached London, we can say that what happened to Eric Garner, whatever his faults, is certainly, tragically terrible. If I had been a police officer I probably would have stopped holding him down when I heard "I can’t breathe!", but then I'm not a police officer used to dealing with criminals lying all the time, including Garner himself who - as is shown in a distressing video that includes his altercation with the police before his arrest - had possibly been lying to the police until a few seconds earlier, when he...

GRAND RAPIDS, MI — The action taken by a New York City police officer against Eric Garner is "clear," writes U.S. Rep. Justin Amash on Wednesday. Clearly excessive force against #EricGarner. I pray that peace and justice will prevail. The incident was captured on video, showing Garner talking with police as they suspected him of selling tax-free cigarettes. The 43-year-old man then is overcome by officers who take him down to the sidewalk. Garner cried out, "I can't breathe," several times before becoming motionless.

Dr. Savage poured over the new $1.2 trillion spending bill, noting the colossal waste and bipartisan "pork barrel" provisions it contains. "Who is going to pay for this?" he asks. "We've just experienced a Republican betrayal of the highest magnitude," Savage announced. In the latest $1.2 trillion dollar spending bill, Obamacare is fully funded. So is amnesty. Boehner is out there, pretending he's concerned. Meanwhile, they gave a billion dollars for the amnesty bill to help illegal aliens. The budget is packed with what we used to call "pork barrel" spending. Now they're called "riders," but it's the same thing:...

Michael Savage: Rush Limbaugh is a “water-carrying, fat fraud?? Savage took a brief respite from discussing deli meats and meatball recipes Wednesday to address the important issues of the day… Democrat bad! Republican good! All Rush Limbaugh does day in and day out. … Water-carriers! Frauds!http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aO4xNU5LdXo

Tonight, I was listening in to the Michael Savage show while I drove home from buying new sneakers. First, he had on a nutritionist to speak out in favor of fish oils and debunk the new study that's come out against them. Then he launched into his now-familiar anti-Zim diatribes. He had on a few callers who said, "I agree with you", which pleased him greatly. He reiterated that Zimmerman caused the whole problem by (1) being a policeman wannabe, (2) having a loaded gun with the safety off [thanks to Freepers here, I learned that sort of gun has...

So the prosecution has rested in the Zimmerman case. I have long said words to the effect that unless the prosecution produces some surprising evidence I had not heard of before, that Zimmerman should be acquitted. Well, the time for that evidence to be presented has passed, and it hasnÂ’t manifested itself. So my original provisional conclusion is now my near-final conclusion. At this point, it would take nothing less than a confession by Zimmerman to get us to proof of guilt beyond a reasonable doubt, or something equally spectacularly surprising. And I donÂ’t think that is very likely. But...

This is a strange analysis from someone who is usually pretty conservative. He is claiming some things that the prosecution isn’t even presenting. Even if what Savage is saying is true, I’m not sure how that changes what happened. Check it out: On his show on, talk show host Michael Savage said that George Zimmerman, who is currently on trial for the murder of Trayvon Martin, should be found guilty of second-degree manslaughter based on two things: 1) The state of his firearm and 2) The language he allegedly used on a 911 call when he was first reporting his...

On his show on Tuesday night, talk show host Michael Savage said that George Zimmerman, who is currently on trial for the murder of Trayvon Martin, should be found guilty of second-degree manslaughter based on two things: 1) The state of his firearm and 2) The language he allegedly used on a 911 call when he was first reporting his suspicions about Martin. But first Savage explained why his insight should be valued over others in the media covering the trial. “I’m about to break an analysis that no one yet in the media has done, as you would expect...

You'd think Joe Scarborough would have learned by now to avoid inflammatory statements about the Trayvon Martin case. Back when that case first broke, Scarborough immediately branded George Zimmerman a "murderer." But there was Scarborough at it again this morning. On today's Morning Joe, he sought to contrast the Michael Brown case with that of Trayvon Martin. In Ferguson, "we don't know the evidence," said Joe. Whereas in the Trayvon Martin case, Scarborough said "you had a guy chase a guy around a neighborhood and shoot him because he was black." View the video here.

Noam Chomsky, author and political theorist, called the United States a “very racist society” and then slammed one of its most beloved presidents, Ronald Reagan, as a prime example of a very racist man during an interview on GRITtv about Ferguson-related issues and race relations. “This is a very racist society,” he said, Raw Story reported. “It’s pretty shocking. What’s happened to African-Americans in the last 30 years is similar to … happen[ed] in the late 19th century,” as described by Douglas Blackmon in “Slavery by Another Name: The Re-Enslavement of Black Americans from the Civil War to World War...

FERGUSON, Missouri – A federal judge ruled Thursday that police can no longer use tear gas on protesters without declaring an illegal assembly, giving them fair warning and time to vacate the area.

Everybody wants to see justice done in the Trayvon Martin case, and almost everybody acts as if they already know what that is. Never mind the Rev. Al Sharpton, activist and crusading journalist all in one. Nor his MSNBC colleague Lawrence O'Donnell, who recently announced he'd decided to forgo wearing a hoodie on TV to look more like a prosecutor. Here's GOP presidential candidate Rick Santorum on "Face the Nation," assessing shooter George Zimmerman's mental health. "Someone has a very sick mind who would pursue someone like this," Santorum said. "This is clearly a heinous act. You know, there are...

Talk about a hypocritical, mealy-mouthed non-apology apology . . . On today's Morning Joe, Joe Scarborough condemned Republicans who "support[ed] George Zimmerman before they even knew the facts of the case." Scarborough then added: "you know, I got out early, said some things about George Zimmerman myself. I shouldn't have said, perhaps. I got overly emotional. I'm not in office. If I were in office I would have apologized." Scarborough didn't reveal to viewers the "some things" he had said about Zimmerman. In fact, early on in the case, long before the facts were on the table, Scarborough branded Zimmerman...

SANFORD, Florida – A slain U.S. teenager and the neighborhood watch captain who shot and killed him exchanged words before the teen punched him in the nose and began banging the man's head on the ground, according to the watch captain's account of the confrontation that led to the shooting. Because 17-year-old Trayvon Martin was black and George Zimmerman has a white father and Hispanic mother, the case has become a racial flashpoint that has civil rights leaders and others leading a series of protests around the country. Zimmerman said he shot Martin in self-defense and has not been arrested...

SEMINOLE COUNTY, Fla. — WFTV just learned Friday morning about a picture of gunman George Zimmerman, taken just three minutes after the shooting that left 17-year-old Trayvon Martin dead. The picture reportedly shows cuts on the back of Zimmerman's head, with blood trickling down. Zimmerman, who shot and killed 17-year-old Martin on February 26 in a gated Sanford community, claimed he killed Martin in self-defense. Zimmerman is charged with second-degree murder for the shooting death of Martin. The picture would seem to back up Zimmerman's claim that Martin slammed his head against the sidewalk. That picture could be part of...

ABC Outs Child Witness— ABC News outed the 13 year-old minor who witnessed the Trayvon Martin killing. The minor said that Martin was on top of Zimmerman before the shooting. WRKO reported on the second witness who confirmed that Zimmerman was attacked. ABC News reported: George Zimmerman, the neighborhood watch crime captain who shot dead 17-year-old Trayvon Martin, originally told police in a written statement that Martin knocked him down with a punch to the nose, repeatedly slammed his head on the ground and tried to take his gun, a police source told ABC News. Zimmerman had claimed he had...

BEGIN TRANSCRIPT RUSH: Safe to say that the media has destroyed George Zimmerman. They set out to destroy George Zimmerman, and they've done it. It's unconscionable what they've done. George Zimmerman doesn't have a microphone, can't fight back. He was just singled out and destroyed. The third network has come forward today and admitted that their original interpretation of a tape involving words spoken by Zimmerman may now not be correct. The third network. The first was NBC, which admitted doctoring a 911 tape. This is not an accident that takes place in the hustle and bustle of putting together...

Lilia Luciano, a Miami-based NBC News correspondent, is no longer working for the network, TVNewser has learned. Luciano last reported for NBC News March 31. Until that point, she had been reporting mainly on the Trayvon Martin story. Sources tell TVNewser Luciano’s dismissal came after an investigation which also led to the firing of a seasoned NBC News producer over a similar, misleading edit. In a story for the “Today” show on March 20, Luciano used part of the George Zimmerman 911 call in which an entire phrase (italicized below) was taken from a later part of the conversation: Zimmerman:...
