Europe in 2017 is racked with uncertainty—the eurozone crises, the endless challenges of the European Union, national elections that resemble endless rounds of bullet-dodging. Yet even these events are insignificant compared with the deep tectonic shifts beneath the Continent’s politics, shifts that Europeans—and their allies—ignore at our peril. Throughout the migration crisis of recent years I traveled across the Continent, from the reception islands into which migrants arrive to the suburbs in which they end up and the chancelleries which encouraged them to come. For decades Europe had encouraged guest workers, and then their families, to come. As Germany’s Chancellor...

The majority of people in Sweden believe the media is dishonest about problems in society associated with mass migration, according to research presented by the nation’s Institute of Media Studies. The institute’s new book Mistrust of the Media, presented at a seminar on Monday, details that whilst confidence in the media is relatively high, Swedes are sceptical of reports on issues connected with immigration. Fifty-four per cent of respondents agreed with the statement: “The Swedish media doesn’t tell the truth about social problems associated with immigration,” whilst only 27 per cent said they disagreed. Confidence was also low with regards...

President Donald Trump’s controversial senior advisor and speechwriter, Stephen Miller, has led White House efforts to undercut an initiative by Italy to place the migration crisis at the center of this week’s Group of Seven major summit meeting starting Friday in Sicily. For Italy, the summit in Taormina, Sicily, was to provide a poignant opportunity to raise awareness of the plight of hundred of thousands of refugees who cross the Mediterranean Sea to Italy’s shores each year, and to reach agreement on a plan to find them permanent homes....

Women expelled from streets in central Paris, police unable to restore safety Tweet linkWomen from the Chapelle-Pajol district (not the banlieue, but right in the centre of Paris, close to Gare Du Nord, the Sacré-Coeur, Montmartre and the Moulin Rouge) are no longer visible on its streets and squares, they are absent from its metro stations, and they are no longer welcome in its cafes, bars and restaurants. The district is taken over by groups of men, drug dealers and migrants, who harass or insult every female they encounter. Newspaper Le Parisien reported this week on the structural misogyny...

It seems that many residents of the West Coast and the Northeast are leaving those regions behind. In March, for example, the Sacramento Bee reported that California “exports its poor to Texas ... while wealthier people move in.†Former Californians report that a lackluster job market, a high cost of living, and high taxes are pushing them out. This week, Chicago Magazine reported on Chicago's highly publicized diaspora. One interviewee reported the crime, high cost of living, and taxes drove him out of Illinois and across the state line to northern Indiana. “I couldn’t have this size house in Illinois,†he said. Last week,...

Ontario - New figures released by the federal government show that illegal border crossings into Canada continue to rise, with 877 people picked up in March by the RCMP, an increase over the 658 people picked up in February and the 315 in January. The numbers do not include those people coming into Canada through legal entry points along the Canada=U.S. border, nor do they include those immigrants that haven't been caught, so the number of asylum seekers could be much higher, according to CBC Canada. Perhaps even more worrisome is the fears that criminals may be coming into the...

A new settlement has been discovered by researchers from the Hakai Institute, University of Victoria and local First Nations members, and it changes everything scientists thought they knew about early civilization in North America. The 14,000-year-old village contains artifacts that date all the way back to the Ice Age and is believed to be one of the oldest human settlements ever uncovered in North America. It’s even suspected to be older than the Giza pyramids! As IFL Science reports, the discovery lines up with the oral history of the Heiltsuk Nation. For generations, stories have been handed down that tell...

One of the oldest human settlements ever found in North America has been uncovered in British Columbia. The 14,000-year-old village was found on Triquet Island 310 miles (500km) northwest of Victoria, Canada. The discovery is three times older than Egypt's pyramids.

Since they left, Vladimir never went back to Kiev, now part of Ukraine “The world is a dangerous place to live; not because of the people who are evil, but because of the people who don’t do anything about it.” —Albert Einstein My friend Vladimir came to the United States legally in 1979. It was almost impossible to come illegally from the former Soviet communist state, USSR. It was the first and last time in his life when being Jewish helped him a lot, he said. If he would have been a member of the communist party, Vladimir would not...

Head of the Federal Agency for Labor, Frank-Jürgen Weise has said that new migrants and asylum seekers have little chance of filling Germany’s skilled worker problem because very few of them meet the needed qualifications. Frank-Jürgen Weise has had a long career in the German government and is now retiring at the age of 65. Mr Weise, who also briefly managed the Federal Agency for Migration and Refugees (BAMF) admits that despite the unemployment rate being lower than when he first took office as head of the Labour agency, migrants will not be able to meet the increasing demand for...

Turkey’s President Recep Tayyip Erdogan warned European governments against moves aimed at resisting Islamization of their countries. “Allah has decreed that all the world belongs to Islam,” he declared. “Acceptance of this reality is the path of peaceful submission to Allah’s will. Efforts to reject this reality will only lead to open warfare and the massacre of the unbelievers.” Erdogan’s bellicose stance was prompted by the European Union’s decision to allow employers to ban head scarves in their workplaces. “They try to portray it as a safety measure,” Erdogan said. “But the lives that would be saved by such a...

The European Union (EU) is to open asylum processing centres in West Africa and countries on the southern shore of the Mediterranean because the continent “need[s] six million migrants”, Commissioner for Migration Dimitris Avramopoulos has said. Speaking in Geneva last week, the Greek Eurocrat denied terror attacks are linked to migration and warned the “biggest threat” to Europe is “the rise of populism, nationalism and xenophobia”. Declaring “the 27 [member states] will need 6 million immigrants in the future”, Avramopoulos explained the Commission is going to open reception centres to recruit migrants, because an open borders approach would fuel populism....

The media and Swedish politicians were in an uproar after President Donald J. Trump chose to highlight the negative effects of mass migration in Sweden. But ten days later, here are ten incidents that proved him right. When former Swedish Prime Minister Carl Bildt asked the U.S. president “what is he smoking?” on Twitter and other celebrities berated President Trump over his comments on 19 February, many wondered what is actually going on in Sweden. Here is a list of incidents that have occurred since that speech proving President Trump may have even been downplaying the situation in the Scandinavian...

The leader of the poll-topping anti-mass migration Sweden Democrats (SD) party Jimmie Åkesson has written an opinion piece for the Wall Street Journal strongly criticising those who dismissed out of hand President Trump’s remarks on the dire security and migration situation. Lamenting the rise in violence and anti-Semitism that has accompanied the migrant wave that saw Sweden take more migrants per captia than any other European nation, Mr Åkesson remarked that sex crimes in the country had doubled in a year. Reeling off a list of damages done to Sweden by mass migration in the opinion piece co-authored with fellow...

EU interior ministers will consider plans on Thursday to finance camps in Africa where the UN refugee agency and aid groups would process migrants to prevent them trying to cross the Mediterranean to Europe. The sea crossing from Libya to Italy, operated by people smugglers, is now the main route for migrants seeking better lives in wealthy Europe, but the EU wants to shut it down and admit only refugees. More than 4,500 people are known to have drowned last year alone trying to make the crossing. The European Union has deployed a naval mission in the Mediterranean and is...

The American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC) just released its latest Rich States, Poor States study showing how states measure up in economic performance based on three variables, and then ranking them in a forecast based on 15 variables. Its conclusion is the same this year as in the past:Generally speaking, states that spend less — especially on income transfer programs, and states that tax less — particularly on productive activities such as working or investing — experience higher growth rates than states that tax and spend more. A United Van Lines report confirms ALEC’s conclusions: Retirees, who make up about a quarter of...

Submitted by Johnny Kampis via The Foundation for Economic Education,Migration patterns for 2016 show that Americans tended to move away from high-tax states and into states where residents keep more of what they earn.United Van Lines, the nation’s largest moving company, recently released its annual movers study report showing that South Dakota overtook Oregon as the top inbound destination. The men have been arrested in Sweden on suspicion of gang-raping a woman, after one allegedly live-streamed the crime on a closed Facebook page. According to Sweden's Aftonbladet tabloid, the alleged crime took place in an apartment in the city of Uppsala early on Sunday morning, with police receiving a tip-off just before 9am. The victim was reportedly close to unconscious at the time the act was perpetrated. “The first thing you think is “How can you do such a thing to a girl? and how can you do it live when you know that you are going to go...

For five straight years, a study by United Van Lines says that New Jersey is the state most abandoned in all of the country, meaning the biggest percentage of out-of-state moves that it does are from New Jersey — 63 percent to be specific. We’ve spoken to so many listeners who have moved out of Jersey over the years that it was difficult to even begin a list of reasons, but here are some things we came up with, just to name a few: Property Taxes (obviously): When you talk to family and friends from out of town and realize...

If those migrants were all adjusting well to live in Great Britain and embracing British culture, this would not be a problem: Britain is set to become the most populous European country by 2050 because of migrant numbers, official figures have revealed. Eurostat, the European Union’s statistical office, predicted the British population to increase by at least 13million – from 64.6 million in 2015 to 77.1 million in 2050. Those numbers collapse completely if migrants aren't included, which would cause another set of problems. For instance, the welfare state would become unaffordable. Having said that, it's not necessarily true that...
