Tumbling sales of Fiat Chrysler’s main midsize car have driven the company to indefinitely lay off 1,300 employees at a Detroit-area factory. Workers on the second shift at Fiat Chrysler’s assembly plant in Sterling Heights, Michigan, will be furloughed starting July 5 as the slow-selling Chrysler 200 has started to stack up on dealer lots. PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- American Airlines flight 736 from Detroit to Philadelphia was cancelled after a pilot was suspected of drinking at the Detroit Metro Airport. TSA reported to police around 6:40 a.m. Saturday that they thought the co-pilot of an American Airlines flight bound for Philadelphia was acting oddly and may have been drinking. At least two universities have recently released revised campus sexual assault policies, and, as expected, the new policies provide few due process protections for accused students. The University of California-Berkeley and the University of Michigan announced new sexual misconduct policies this week. On Thursday, the Michigan House voted 65-43 to pass two pro-life bills to protect women from being coerced into having abortions. One would make it a felony to stalk or assault a pregnant woman for the purpose of pressuring her into an abortion, and the other would make it a misdemeanor to threaten to withhold legally-required financial aid or employment if she refuses to abort.
