President Barack Obama on Friday strongly denounced the dark and dire terms in which Donald Trump and the Republican Party described the condition of the United States after nearly eight years of his presidency. While remarking that he did not watch the convention, the president commented on reading "some of what was said and the one thing that I think is important to recognize is this idea that America is somehow on the verge of collapse, this vision of violence and chaos everywhere, doesn't really jibe with the experience of most people."

The three networks on Thursday night immediately derided Donald Trump’s “dark speech” as one coming from a “vengeful” “demagogue.” On NBC, Tom Brokaw allowed that “some” will see Trump as on a “white horse who will lead them to some kind of sanctuary and then pull the drawbridge up.” But he sneered, “Others looking in are going to see someone they will only think as a demagogue of some kind.” Chuck Todd labeled, “I thought it was an extraordinarily dark speech.” Republican operative Nicolle Wallace lamented, “We are now represented as a party by a man who believes in protectionism,...

If you encounter someone who don't like Trump or Hillary, and they don't want either one to be president, here's the argument you give them. Of the two, only one will have their deeds exposed and challenged by the press - Trump. Only one will have their potential scandals exposed by the press - Trump. Hillary will not be challenged on anything by the press. The Fourth Pillar will play dead with Hillary in power.

Carl Bernstein talks the power of the Drudge Report and the influence the eponymous editor had in the Republican primary race during a CNN panel discussion about Roger Ailes and the future of FOX News. Bernstein said FOX has driven Trump's candidacy less than Matt Drudge and called the website "an influence unequalled." "One of the interesting things we've seen in this campaign is, FOX has driven Trump's candidacy less than Matt Drudge," the legendary journalist said Wednesday on CNN. "Drudge is really great new factor in this election in terms of media. He is -- Drudge, that site has...

BEGIN TRANSCRIPT RUSH: Grab sound bites number eight and nine at least, because this is more of the same here. This is NBC Special Coverage, Republican National Convention, and the NBC crew is Tom Brokaw, F. Chuck Todd, Nicolle Wallace, and Savannah Guthrie. We're gonna play you audio sound bites of that moment in time when they realize that Trump has changed the rules of politics and that they're covering the wrong things. They're focusing on the wrong things, like the plagiarism. Nobody cares! They think it's a disqualifying thing for Donald Trump that his wife plagiarized Michelle Obama. They've...

CLEVELAND, Ohio — Breitbart News’ Joel Pollak sent The Daily Show running for cover, armed only with his cell phone camera, outside a “Gays for Trump” party hosted by Breitbart Tech editor Milo Yiannopoulos near the Republican National Convention early Wednesday. A crew from The Daily Show — which plunged in the ratings after Trevor Noah took over as host— set up outside the event and approached people as they left the party, asking them for interviews. At 12:30 a.m., Pollak was leaving the party when The Daily Show approached. “I was on the phone anyway,” Pollak recalled, “so I ignored...

A hilarious mom is poking fun at celebrity parents by recreating their Instagram photos with an added dose of reality. Celeste Barber is an Australian actor, writer and comedian, who has two sons under the age of 6 and two teenage stepdaughters. As such, she knows a thing or two about parenting exhaustion ... and how to find humor in it. Barber reenacts celebrity Instagram pics, magazine photos and product ads to highlight how far they fall from her reality as a mom and “normal” person.

When a lone protester from the anti-American, far-left group Code Pink tried to make noise in the crowd at the Republican National Convention (RNC) on Tuesday night, the “big three” networks of ABC, CBS, and NBC tag-teamed with MSNBC to spent nearly six minutes showing and discussing the “scrappy” protester. ABC led the way with two minutes and 14 seconds hyping and/or showing the protester jostle with delegates and security as chief anchor and Clinton Foundation donor George Stephanopoulos intently interested in the protester’s actions. This then gave way to chief foreign correspondent Terry Moran chiding the RNC for “another...

3 CNN anchors discussing Don Jr's speech while onlooking delegates are holding up signs: "Clinton News Network", and "Don't Believe the Liberal Media". I laughed out loud and got dizzy as the camera kept trying to avoid the signs. Hope you saw it.

He brought up Fer and they started clashing as Kelly insisted that he’s completely rejecting the facts of what happened. As presumptive Republican nominee Donald Trump arrived in Cleveland Monday afternoon, he was greeted by NBC Today co-host Matt Lauer hectoring him about the “tone” of the GOP convention, which had barely started: “There’s been so much violence in the country in the last couple of weeks. People are on edge, they’re tense. You add to that the passion that comes with political debate and there are people who are truly afraid that things could boil over here in Cleveland.” In the interview, aired on Tuesday morning, Lauer demanded Trump promise to keep convention speakers in line: “Would you be...

...Gaven Tradoux reported on the MLK Jr. penchant to plagiarize previously: “Even the much celebrated “I have a dream” speech of 1963 was plagiarized. By a peculiar turn of events, the source King raided for this was a speech given to the Republican National convention of 1952, by a black preacher named Archibald Carey.” Archibald Carey was appointed Chair of the President’s Committee on Government Employment Policy by President Dwight D. Eisenhower on August 3, 1957. He was the first African-American to hold this position. Mr. Carey also served as an alternate delegate from the United States to the United...

A committee of scholars appointed by Boston University concluded today that the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. plagiarized passages in his dissertation for a doctoral degree at the university 36 years ago. "There is no question," the committee said in a report to the university's provost, "but that Dr. King plagiarized in the dissertation by appropriating material from sources not explicitly credited in notes, or mistakenly credited, or credited generally and at some distance in the text from a close paraphrase or verbatim quotation."

What's in a quote? For Joe Biden, his plagiarisation of a speech delivered by Neil Kinnock, then Labour leader, helped put pay to his own campaign to win the Democrats' presidential nomination more than 20 years ago. The speech by Mr Kinnock, as he desperately tried to remodel and rebuild the Labour Party, was widely judged to be a dramatic and powerful piece of political rhetoric - making it particularly tempting

No sooner are the bloodstains and bits of human flesh hosed off the concrete from the latest Muslim or #BlackLivesMatter terrorist attack and the grieving families ushered through the cold metal doors of impersonal morgues to identify the bodies of their loved ones that the vultures of the media rise above a wounded city and begin spinning the same old lies. The propaganda, the artful selection and deselection of facts, have become as familiar to us as they were to any of the residents of the Soviet Union or North Korea. Anyone who pays attention knows not only that they...
