Speaking of, I watched a BBC production of “1984” on www.archive.org this weekend. It was a low-budget film made in 1951, but the message was there and it was absolutely chilling to watch. After slimming down the vocabulary, great works of literature and Western cultural identity became meaningless. Also, the school-indoctrinated children were a terror. In today’s PC climate, we are not too far removed from the mandated 2-minute hate sessions.
At least half of the country has no idea whatsoever what “Marxist” means. I heard a high school teacher say this morning that many of her students could not even tell you how many states are in the union. God help us!
