Bostonians are fairly evenly divided over whether theirs is a racist town, 42 percent saying yes and 45 percent believing it is not, according to a new Suffolk University/Boston Globe poll. Michelle Carter, a 20-year-old Massachusetts woman, will be on trial this week for allegedly urging her boyfriend — through text messages — to kill himself. Conrad Roy, 18, killed himself on July 12, 2014, by inhaling carbon monoxide produced by a water pump in his truck.
