Minnesota Vikings star Adrian Peterson avoided jail time on Tuesday in a plea agreement reached with prosecutors to resolve his child abuse case. Peterson pleaded no contest to a misdemeanor charge of reckless assault under the deal that Montgomery County state District Judge Kelly Case approved during a court hearing. A no contest plea isn't an admission of guilt but is treated as such for sentencing.

While polling data makes it appear pro-life Republicans will take over the Senate from pro-abortion Democrats, whether votes cast on Election Day line up with those polls in another question. And one of the worries some pro-life voters have is whether illegal voting will prevent pro-life candidates from winning. virginiaIn Virginia, early reports are showing that some voters may be having problems getting votes registered properly for the candidates they support. One news report indicates voters have experienced voting errors — including voters who say votes for a Republican candidate have been registered for his Democrat opponent. According to a...

Just voted in Fairfax county. Machine takes ballot and simply indicates that I voted. It doesn't provide any indication of how it actually scanned my ballot so as far as I know, I could've just voted for Dr.Doolittle. Sounds like good potential for electronic voting fraud here.

SANTA CLARITA (CBSLA.com) — Authorities believe they have arrested a prolific tagger who allegedly struck more than 750 times in the Santa Clarita Valley since 2009. Detectives announced that the graffiti artist who tagged the name “Rane” is behind bars. The vandal was identified at 23-year-old Isiah Garcia. Garcia — who authorities also believe used the tag “Kase” — was arrested and booked at the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station. Detectives served a search warrant at Garcia’s home in the 25200 block of Everett Drive in the Newhall area Thursday morning. Officials say Garcia used spray paint, permanent markers, etching...

A man delivering drywall to a New Jersey construction site was killed Monday when a tape measure fell 50 stories, striking him on the head, authorities said. The 1-pound tape measure became dislodged from the belt of a worker on the 50th floor and struck construction equipment about 10 to 15 feet from the ground, according to Carly Baldwin, a spokeswoman for Jersey City's Department of Public Safety. It then ricocheted and struck Gary Anderson, 58, who had just stopped to speak with another worker who was in a pickup truck just before 9 a.m. in the city's downtown section....

AUSTIN, Texas -- The Bexar County Democratic Party has launched a controversial Spanish-language ad during the final week before the November 4 elections, calling tea party Republicans "radical terrorists." The ad begins showing the American and Mexican flags, with a male narrator saying in Spanish that the flags represent "friendship, liberty, opportunity, and justice," then showing a Gadsden flag with its famous "Don't Tread on Me" motto. The Gadsden flag, which the ad calls "muy peligrosa," or "very dangerous," was designed in 1775 during the American Revolution and has since been adopted as a symbol by various libertarian and tea...

The burglar stabbed the aspiring chef with one of her own knives and watched her call 911 before fleeing with her wallet.. Those are some of the details Broward Sheriff's detectives described Monday as part of their five-month investigation into the killing of Franco, who had worked at the Boca Raton Resort & Club.

An allegedly drunken and unlicensed ice cream truck driver went to jail Halloween evening after he was seen stumbling out of his truck, according to the CHP Monday. The Santa Rosa driver’s blood-alcohol level was at least four times the legal amount, CHP Officer Kerri Post said. The man had pulled into a Sebastopol Road business across from Roseland Elementary at about 4:30 p.m. A nearby worker saw him struggling as he walked from the truck and called 911 to report a possibly drunken driver. Sonoma County sheriff’s deputies responded and detained the man. CHP officers ran him through sobriety...

Comedy gold! As the co-founder of the Daily Show, Lizz Winstead might be a funny lady. But what she came up with today was surely an unintentional laugh line. Appearing on Joy Reid’s MSNBC show this afternoon, Winstead blamed Wendy Davis’ impending thrashing in her race for Governor of Texas on . . . “redistricting.” Lizz, last time we looked, there is no districting—”re” or otherwise—when it comes to statewide races. The entire state is one big district that gets to vote for Governor. Oh, and for good measure, Lizz laid the rest of the blame on “the media.” Right....

Just a reminder to all Florida voters. Please be sure and vote. I just got back from an early voting site, and the number of low information voters there was terrible. The Democrat party must have sent out a memo to terrify the low information voters into showing up. The line was getting longer with them. Let us not allow them to get Charlie Crist to take office again. This is very important.

An important part of British gun control is to make it illegal for anyone to obtain a gun without government permission. This did not happen all at once. Airguns and shotguns were exempt under the system for almost 50 years. The requirement in I-594 for government permission before a firearm may be acquired, is similar to the start of the British system. The British system was made incrementally more and more restrictive over the years. It has never been shown to be effective in reducing crime. This summation of the UK gun control system was researched and written for the...

(VIDEO-AT-LINK)The people who question the innocence of unarmed black teen Michael Brown, murdered at the hands of police, are those who believe in White American ideals. In an interview with Press TV on Sunday, Atlanta-based Mustafa Ansari, an international lawyer and dean of the American Institute of Human Rights, spoke about a recent article with the title “Michael Brown and Race Hoaxes” published on creators.com. In her article, Mona Charen, claims that Brown is one of “a long, very sad list of faux ‘civil rights’ victims.” “Each of these, and too many other cases to list, was greeted with lip-smacking...

Thailand’s famous moon parties banned in drug and alcohol crackdown This story was published: 1 day ago November 01, 2014 12:00AM THAILAND’s fun police are likely to throw the plans of thousands of Australian backpackers into turmoil after banning three of the four main monthly “moon” parties. Half and Quarter Moon shindigs — along with some supplementary jungle parties — will no longer be staged on the islands of Koh Phangan and Koh Tao, near Koh Samui, for ‘drug and alcohol’ reasons. The only beach rave left standing is Koh Phangan’s original Full Moon Party which last month attracted about...
