EW didn’t receive a review copy of this book, so we have not actually read it (consider this top of my weekend to-do list), but here are some reactions from other critics:

DRUDGE FLASH: RUSH LIMBAUGH WINS 'AUTHOR OF THE YEAR' FROM CHILDREN'S BOOK COUNCIL

RUSH: Mark in Richmond, Virginia, you're next. Great to have you, sir. Hello. CALLER: Hello, Rush. I'm a longtime listener, and I've listened to you over the years, and one time you said something about trying to elect the most conservative candidate that was electable. Now, correct me on some of the details, but in light of the Tea Party candidates that are trying to get elected running against the establishment machine, I thought this would be relevant to go over what you exactly said and the details of that. RUSH: I quoted William F. Buckley Jr., who said that...

Jon Stewart took on Boko Haram and the #BringBackOurGirls campaign, but took an aside to issue a strong “f*ck you” to Rush Limbaugh for mocking and belittling the hashtag activism over the kidnapping of hundreds of Nigerian girls.

Stewart tore into Boko Haram and said that #BringBackOurGirls actually proves Twitter can be more useful than you might think at pressuring people to do something. And so in reaction to Limbaugh rolling his eyes at the hashtag activism, Stewart came up with a new hashtag for people to use: #F*ckYouRush. Stewart even contrasted the people speaking out on the girls’ behalf with “that f*cking guy” Limbaugh to show what the two sides are in this argument.

Conservative radio host Rush Limbaugh slammed the Twitter hashtag campaign, #BringBackOurGirls, which is drawing attention to the kidnappings of schoolgirls in Nigeria, calling it “pathetic.” “I just think this is pathetic. I’m just stunned. We got 300 Nigerian girls kidnapped by an Al Qaeda group, and nobody cared or talked about it for a while, Hillary [Clinton] wouldn’t call ‘em a terror group. Now all of a sudden, for some reason, we’re on a big push to get ‘em back and this is how… ?” Limbaugh said Thursday on his radio program, according to a transcript.

Midway through the fist half-hour of the Limbaugh show this afternoon the air suddenly went dead for a couple minutes - then audio returned with a clip of the supposed awful Bundy talk on "negroes" et al - then another minute or two of dead air, finally cutting back to Rush in mid-sentence. Thinking that I'm not that far around the bend yet, I'm wondering who else experienced this? - was it just in the Philly area, or more widespread - or are the hallucination starting after all....

PHILADELPHIA, April 22, 2014 (LifeSiteNews.com) – The forthcoming made-for-TV film about the life and crimes of “house of horrors†abortionist Kermit Gosnell may focus less on his grotesque office and macabre butchering tactics than on the story's forgotten heroes, one of the filmmakers told The Rush Limbaugh Show this afternoon. Ann McElhinney, one of three principals behind the proposed $2.1 million made-for-TV “true crime†film about Gosnell, said people are rightly horrified by Gosnell's practice of “snipping†infants born alive with scissors. But they forget that, even in one of the most gruesome stories in American abortion history, “there were...

We all know the top "rated" talk shows but do the ratings reflect your preferences? Are the highest rated necessarily the most talented? (video)

(Snip) At long last, it appears that Rush Limbaugh has run out of steam. I have to acknowledge that I have sensed Rush getting by on fumes for some time now (yes, I tune into his show from time to time to enjoy his broadcasting skills if not his message). However, it was only recently that the world of Limbaugh crossed that thin red line from partially serious to total self-parody and audience deception—a line crossed from which there is often no return. It happened on the occasion of Stephen Colbert’s appointment to fill David Letterman’s soon to be vacated...

RUSH: I understand, ladies and gentlemen, that my occasional usage of the word "concomitant" and "concomitantly" is irritating Freepers at FreeRepublic.com. "Yes, and if I hear that word and his pronunciation one more time, I will scream!" I guess some prefer "con-com-i-TANT-ly." At any rate, I was watching a show, a BBC show -- a fascinating show, by the way. I hope it's made available in America. It's from the BBC, about Kim Philby. It's a two-parter. I think it's an hour and 45 minutes each, whatever. It's an hour, hour and a half, maybe it's two hours. So there...

Steve King: "Maybe we should be spending less time watching Comedy Central and more time considering all the real jobs that are out there, ones that require real hard labor and don't involve sitting behind a desk. If we did, we'd realize that every day, American workers perform the dirtiest, most difficult, most dangerous jobs that can be thrown at them. From crab fishermen who venture out into some of the roughest and most dangerous waters in the world, to the Joe the Plumbers of the world who many days would prefer the aroma of fresh dirt to that of...

CBS’s decision to replace David Letterman with comic Stephen Colbert is an open act of contempt toward ordinary Americans, Rush Limbaugh says.

Listening to Limbaugh at the moment, and I have got to hand it to Rush. He is going off on the left, for what happened to the former Mozille chief. Way to go Rush. Well said.

You know who talks about Sarah Palin and Rush Limbaugh far more than Fox News or even Sarah Palin herself? Who jumps on the stupid remarks made by Fox News pundits and broadcasts on every social media site and on our TV sets on a daily basis? That would be us, the liberal media. Whether mainstream or alternative, the liberal media positively loves every dumb tweet, every verbal slip and borderline racist comment made by conservative talk show hosts and political celebrities alike. And guess what? The conservative media, mainstream or even the most bizarre rightwing blog sites, loves each...

Rush Limbaugh - radio host, conservative firebrand and... children's book author of the year? The Children’s Book Council and its Every Child a Reader program released on Thursday their author-of-the-year finalists for their annual Children’s and Teen Choice Book Awards. Limbaugh is one of the four finalists, and his nomination has prompted outrage on social media, given the host’s often-incendiary nature. Limbaugh's book is titled, "Rush Revere and The Brave Pilgrims: Time-Travel Adventures with Exceptional Americans" – a time-traveling tale of colonial America and the latest of two books in the "Rush Revere Series" published last year by Simon &...

Never, ever, the conservative radio talk show host said on his radio program Thursday.

RUSH: Rand Paul went to Berkeley yesterday, last night. Rand Paul got a standing O from the students at the University of California-Berkeley. Do you know the issue that he hit on that they just jumped out of their seats and applauded him on was the government spying on the citizens? He came out firmly against it, highly critical of it, and they couldn't be quiet. They were just cheering him like Republicans don't get cheered on college campi. The San Francisco Chronicle reports that Rand Paul "delivered a scathing rebuke to the US intelligence community Wednesday, calling it 'drunk...

RUSH: The New York Times. What is this, a tiny little paragraph? One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, 10 lines. National Briefing, Midwest. It's page A14 of the New York Times today. Here's the headline: "Wisconsin: Assembly Passes Governor’s Tax-Cut Plan -- The Wisconsin Assembly has passed Gov. Scott Walker’s $504 million tax-cut plan. The chamber approved the bill on Tuesday by a vote of 61 to 35." It wasn't even close

RUSH: Have you seen, ladies and gentlemen, the new Cadillac commercial for their new electric car? (interruption) You haven't? It features the actor Neal McDonough. Do you watch Justified? (interruption) Well, Neal McDonough was in Justified two years ago. He's got this baby-shaped head, blue eyes, short, blond hair. He can play the nicest next-door neighbor or the evilest villain you've ever found. He is the actor in this commercial. The left hates this commercial. There are caustic posts on leftist websites, and even mainstream news sites, Huffing and Puffington Post. They're outraged over the Cadillac ad! If you've seen...
