MSNBC host Joe Scarborough did not appear satisfied with his co-hosts’ reaction to yesterday’s remarks from White House Press Secretary Jay Carney over the newly released emails linking the White House to former United Nations Amb. Susan Rice’s talking points on the Benghazi attack. Scarborough unloaded on Donny Deutsch after his first reaction was to warn Republicans to not overreact to the news. The MSNBC host contended that this was not an appropriate reaction to the revelations about a White House not being forthright. “The spokesperson for the White House is saying a directive to Susan Rice about Benghazi is...

The White House went on the defensive Wednesday to explain newly released emails that appear to show the administration drafted talking points to blame the fatal attack in Benghazi, Libya, on a spontaneous protest rather than a coordinated assault planned by al Qaida-linked Islamist militants. White House spokesman Jay Carney said in a briefing at the White House that the emails released on Tuesday by a conservative watchdog group weren’t about Benghazi specifically, but instead referred to a different set of talking points that addressed unrest across the region. “The email and the talking points were not about Benghazi they...

In Defense of Diana West By J.R. Nyquist Commentary for 27 April 2014 There is great confusion in our political discourse today. “Former” Communists in Russia are sounding more and more like conservatives. The same might be said of “former” Communists in the United States. Everyone talks a good anti-Communist line. After all, Communism is dead, and only exists (we are told) as an artifact of college life. Most people are focused on Global Warming, multiculturalism or homosexual rights. Nobody seems to notice that Global Warming, multiculturalism and homosexual rights are artifacts of the supposedly “dead” religion (some of whose...

A short time ago I learned of a church building in our neighborhood that was for sale. For years now Grace Fellowship Church has been looking for a building of our own, so we thought we should go and give it a look. This had once been a thriving congregation. Faithful Christians had given sacrificially to construct that building. They had consecrated it to the Lord and had worshipped there for many years. Yet now that building was deserted, decaying, and up for sale. What happened? How did that church go from thriving to dying? How did it slide from...

The Times led its print edition Monday with an article based in part on photographs that the State Department said were evidence of Russian military presence in popular uprisings in Ukraine. The headline read: "Photos link masked men in East Ukraine to Russia." ... The Times has published a second article backing off from the original [link at URL] and airing questions about what the photographs are said to depict, but hardly addressing how the newspaper may have been misled. ...

Public Trust: Sixty-one percent polled say President Obama lies "some of the time" or "most of the time" on matters of national importance. Americans have to ask: Why do we let him get away with it? It's no surprise that a Fox News poll of 1,012 registered voters last week found immense distrust of a president whose main domestic initiative was based on a lie. The shock is that the same poll found his disapproval level down to its lowest since last fall. Asked, "How often do you think Barack Obama lies to the country on important matters?" 37% replied...

A few weeks back, I read a Washington Post story "Inside the admissions process at George Washington University" and noted this interesting tidbit towards the end: GW also asks students to list a role model and two words to describe themselves. As for herself, Freitag said, she would list “Martha Stewart/Tina Fey” and “sassy/classy.” This year, she’s seeing a lot of Edward Snowden citations. I had thought about writing it up, but decided it was a pretty small thing, really. It's not secret that, as a group, younger people have a much more favorable impression of Snowden than older people....

The Federal Government lies as a matter of policy and habit. Occasionally "legitimate" media detect and dissect the lies, but they more often simply report them as true. The resultant "conspiracy theories" are often more believable than the Government lies which spawned them. [youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u-yhiV4wcMc] Video linkFrom Benghazi to ObamaCare to the Israel - Palestinian "peace process" to the Iran Scam to the Bundy Ranch standoff and beyond, "our" Government has lied to us repeatedly and there have been no signs that it intends to stop or even to slow down. The lies have rarely been for legitimate national security reasons and have far more often been to promote...

Climate change is having a big impact on both the earth's natural systems and how people live, according to the most comprehensive assessment of the threat of a warming planet done so far. The second part in a four-part report by the U.N. Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change warns that the problem will become increasingly difficult to manage, with possible threats to everything from the food supply to coral reefs and low-lying coastal areas. "The striking feature of observed impacts is that they are occurring from the tropics to the poles, from small islands to large continents, and from the...

Pollster Celinda Lake's advice to fellow Democrats to take a midway position in the 2014 congressional campaigns is flawed because it can't be sold as honest. Reacting to results from her bipartisan Battleground Poll that show Obamacare to be a political loser, Lake said: "Don't defend it. Say it was flawed from the beginning and we're going to fix it." Note that she didn't advise to reject it outright, apparently because she knows that's never going to fly with Obama and the Democratic establishment and probably because it would be tantamount to an admission that the party has failed in...

President Obama looked to rally European allies to intensify the international isolation of Russia in a sweeping speech Wednesday afternoon, casting the crisis in Crimea as the latest iteration of a decades-old battle with the "darker forces of the past." "I come here today to insist that we must never take for granted the progress that has been won here in Europe and advanced around the world, because the contest of ideas continues for your generation," Obama told an audience at the Palais Des Beaux Arts in Belgium. Obama declared that Russia's leadership was "challenging truths that only a few...

(CNSNews.com) - "Never in my lifetime have I seen a law that is helping so many people be so vilified," Sen. Barbara Boxer (D-Calif.) told a conference call on Friday. She talked about the millions of people in her state who are benefiting from the law that Republicans have tried to repeal 54 times. "This is a huge success, this law. I'm saying that. We had a terrible rollout, it slowed us up, but it's all falling into place now and the Republican answer is very, very simple -- let's repeal it and take away all these benefits from people....

Every President, every politician, and every human being tells lies and engages in acts of hypocrisy. But Barack Obama does these things to a far greater degree than anyone else that I have ever known of. His campaign promises were so much better sounding than anyone else’s – no lobbyists in his administration, waiting five days before signing all non-emergency bills so people would have time to read them, putting health care negotiations on C-SPAN, reading every bill line by line to make sure money isn’t being wasted, prosecution of Wall St. criminals, ending raids against medical marijuana in states...

Back in July a North Korean ship trying to sneak military contraband through the Panama Canal after leaving Havana was stopped on a tip by Panamanian authorities. Well, wha-da-ya know?! The ship, named the Chon-Chon Gang, was found to be crammed with missiles and mucho military contraband from terror-sponsoring Cuba. Nuke-rattling North Korea has been under a UN arms embargo since 2006, by the way. At first, Cuban terror-sponsoring dictator Raul Castro tried threatening the Panamanian authorities behind the scenes to keep the issue mum, or at least parrot their version of the scam. But Panamanian President Ricardo Martinelli scoffed...

Late last year Obama finally got around to admitting that you couldn’t actually keep your insurance policy under Obamacare. This after years of telling the country that we would be able to keep our policies. Now the President is finally getting around to telling us what we already surmised: We won’t be able to keep our doctor either. The President is actually running around the country trying to spin fewer choices, suggesting that it’s a “cost savings.” Interestingly before Obamacare those with insurance could afford the doctor they wanted. It’s only under Obamacare that they can’t afford their doctor. Yet...

A United States surveillance drone has been intercepted above the Ukranian region of Crimea, a Russian state arms and technology group said Friday. "The drone was flying at about 4,000 metres (12,000 feet) and was virtually invisible from the ground. It was possible to break the link with US operators with complex radio-electronic" technology, said Rostec in a statement. The drone fell "almost intact into the hands of self-defence forces" added Rostec, which said it had manufactured the equipment used to down the aircraft, but did not specify who was operating it.

<p>The Soviet Kremlin was skilled at dishonesty – from Vladimir Lenin’s “a lie told often enough becomes the truth” to Josef Stalin’s denial of Ukraine’s forced famine that killed millions and Mikhail Gorbachev’s stonewalling about the Chornobyl nuclear power plant disaster in 1986.</p>
