MEXICO CITY (Reuters) - Mexican police have captured a leading drug baron from the border city of Ciudad Juarez, the country's most violent town in a turf war that killed 6,300 people last year. Vicente Carrillo Leyva, a leader of the Juarez cartel, was seized while exercising in a park in an upscale residential district of Mexico City, police said on Thursday. The Juarez cartel is locked in a bitter war with traffickers from the state of Sinaloa for control of smuggling routes into Texas. The fighting forced the government to send 5,000 extra troops into Ciudad Juarez last month.

TIJUANA, Mexico – A key hitman for Mexico's Arellano Felix drug cartel was arrested on Saturday in this crime-ridden border city, in another coup for President Felipe Calderón's clampdown on traffickers. (AP) — Mario "Tony" Leyva, a traveling, self-ordained evangelist who served 13 years in prison for molesting young boys, must spend an additional 16 months behind bars on a parole violation, the U.S. Parole Commission has decided.</p> <p>The commission imposed the additional time for Leyva this week after finding that he violated his parole in July by fleeing a motel in downtown Roanoke, where federal and state parole officials had been supervising him since his April 2002 release from prison.</p>
