Fool me once. We were told that the health care system was broken. As a result, the Affordable Care Act was signed into law with the promise that premiums would be lower, we could keep our doctors and our insurance. Fool me twice. When the IRS was accused of targeting conservative groups, the president said there was not even a "smidgen" of corruption. Of course the Department of Justice declined to investigate. Fool me thrice. When four Americans were killed in Benghazi, it was said the cause was an offensive video. Susan Rice went out on a Sunday morning and...

<p>President Obama reportedly penned a secret letter to Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei last month discussing their shared interest in fighting the Islamic State -- a development one congressional source told Fox News "f***s up everything."</p>
<p>The Wall Street Journal reported Thursday that, according to people briefed on the letter, Obama wrote to Khamenei in the middle of last month and stressed that any cooperation on dealing with the Islamic State, or ISIS, was tied to Iran striking a deal over its nuclear program. The U.S., Iran and other negotiators are facing a Nov. 24 deadline for such a deal.</p>

The Secret Service, to make certain, has sent the letter out again to confirm that it indeed has come in contact with the deadly poison. This is a breaking news story and we'll update as more information becomes available.

Before U.S. Senator Tom Cotton (R., Ark.) and 46 of his GOP colleagues are frog-marched to the gallows and hanged for treason, one vital point of confusion must be cleared up. Say what you will about the Republicans’ open letter “to the leaders of the Islamic Republic of Iran.” The Cotton/GOP letter regarding Tehran’s atom-bomb talks with Obama was not sent to the ayatollahs. Had Cotton & Co. actually delivered their communiqué to Iran’s mullahs — perhaps via a Swiss diplomatic pouch or something even more cloak and dagger — their critics would be on less swampy ground in calling...

I side with the people who think that Tom Cotton and the 46 senators who joined with him in an open letter to apprise the Iranians about the way our Constitutional system works did the world a great service. As I’ll discuss at greater length below, the letter is a simple, beautifully written exposition about the American Constitution and its effects. In addition, it’s a wonderful honey pot for calling stupid Progressives out of their dark caves and exposing their ignorance to bright sunlight. The Cotton letter is really nothing more than an elegant primer about the balance of powers and...

Senator Tom Cotton of Arkansas explained the reasoning behind the letter he and 46 other senators sent to Iran about the nuclear deal this morning on CBS. Watch Cotton's interview with Bob Schieffer here:

WASHINGTON -- In an effort to reassert control over the domestic political debate surrounding sensitive negotiations on Iran’s nuclear program, the White House penned a letter Saturday night warning senators to hold back on legislation that would detract from the president’s ability to affect and approve a final agreement with Iran. The letter, written by White House Chief of Staff Denis McDonough to Senate Foreign Relations Committee Chairman Bob Corker (R-Tenn.), reiterates a veto threat of the bill, while insisting that Congress will have a say in reviewing and affecting the ultimate outcome. But in far more detailed and foreboding...

A bipartisan majority of House lawmakers have written a letter to President Obama backing up the letter 47 GOP senators controversially addressed to Iran on Monday with dire warnings about the impending nuke deal. Some 250 members had signed the House letter by Friday afternoon, a clear majority of the chamber. Its authors, House Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Ed Royce, R-Calif., and the panel's top Democrat, Eliot Engel of New York, are still gathering more signatures but will send the letter to Obama soon. "Should an agreement with Iran be reached, permanent sanctions relief from congressionally mandated sanctions would require...

GOP power broker Haley Barbour’s lobby shop, BGR Group, represents a Russian bank that has financed a company that helped build Iran’s Bushehr nuclear power plant, according to corporate documents and lobbying disclosure records. The bank is owned by a secretive oligarch, Mikhail Fridman, who has met at least twice with White House officials in the last few years, according to visitor logs.

Republicans Admit: That Iran Letter Was a Dumb Idea A day after releasing a letter that potentially threatened the administration’s negotiations with Iran, some Republicans who signed on are realizing it was a bad call. Behind the scenes, Republicans are wondering if sending an open letter to Iran’s leaders was the best strategy to keep a bad nuclear deal from being negotiated. Earlier this week, 47 Republican senators signed a letter warning the Iranian government that many of them would remain in office long after President Barack Obama’s second term was over, meaning any deal reached between the U.S. and...

Secretary of State John Kerry says he’s in “utter disbelief” over the letter to Iranian leaders led by Sen. Tom Cotton of Arkansas and signed by 46 other Republican senators, warning any Iranian nuclear deal reached with the U.S. could be revoked by the next president or modified by Congress. “This letter ignores more than two centuries of precedent in the conduct of U.S. foreign policy,” Kerry said Wednesday at a Senate Foreign Relations Committee hearing. “This risks undermining the confidence that foreign governments in thousands of important agreements commit to with the United States.” In his 29 years as...

The Justice Department is pressing the State Department to designate Boko Haram, a Nigerian militant group alleged to be responsible for hundreds of deaths, as a "foreign terrorist organization," according to a document obtained by Reuters. Lisa Monaco, head of the Justice Department's national security division, sent a letter in January to State Department counter-terrorism chief Daniel Benjamin requesting that Boko Haram, also known as the "Nigerian Taliban," be put on the list. A Congressional source said that in the last few days, State Department representatives have lobbied Congress to try to stop legislation which would force the administration to...

A petition posted to the White House’s ‘We the People’ do it yourself petition site on Monday calls for prosecution under the Logan Act of the forty-seven U.S. senators who signed a letter initiated by Sen. Tom Cotton (R-Arkansas) to the Iranian government about the negotiations for a nuclear deal between the Islamist state sponsor of terrorism and President Barack Obama. The petition accuses the senators of having committed a “treasonous offense” and violating the Logan Act which prohibits U.S. citizens from conducting unauthorized negotiations with foreign powers. Signers of the petition rocketed it past the 100,000 minimum signers set...

Sheriff with a heart of gold treats boy, nine, to the hunting trip of a lifetime - after the boy mistakenly sent an adorable letter to the wrong state A 9-year-old Pennsylvania got the hunting trip of a lifetime after mistakenly writing to writing to a sheriff 600 miles away in South Carolina. Alex Collins' mother saw a Facebook post by Chester County Sheriff Alex Underwood's program to take small children hunting and fishing and little Alex wrote the sheriff a heartfelt letter. He explained that he desperately wanted to learn to hunt, but he didn't have anybody to teach...

ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI) – Missouri Lieutenant Governor Peter Kinder wrote an open letter to Attorney General Eric Holder. He is calling him out for not releasing his findings yet in the federal investigation into the Michael Brown shooting. In Kinder’s letter, he notes the investigation has gone on, “For more than four months.” He adds: “I respectfully request that you release to the public the findings of fact from your federal investigation into whether a civil rights violation occurred. I ask this not knowing what those findings are. However, I believe that all Missourians, indeed all Americans, have a...

Dear Republicans in Washington, Houston, we’ve got a problem. We have a president who has made it clear he will unilaterally change laws in a way that will harm America’s economy for years to come – whether they pertain to labor, energy, health care, and of course, immigration. He openly brags about his newfound ability to “change the law,” and he is only emboldened to continue building on the lawlessness for the next two years. Yet, at the same time that Obama has assumed the powers Alexander Hamilton referred to as the prerogative of perpetual and hereditary prince, you have...

The Obama administration is so desperate to reach a nuclear deal with Iran by the current deadline of November 24th if at all possible that it is willing to trust Russia to play a key implementation role. In the face of Russian President Vladimir Putin’s duplicity with regard to Ukraine and Putin’s increasingly aggressive stance towards the West that harkens back to the Cold War, the Obama administration is deluding itself into thinking that it can trust Putin to keep his word on ensuring that much of Iran’s uranium stockpile is converted into a relatively harmless end product. According to...

FULL TITLE: A young woman writes an open letter to the child she is about to abort and posts it online. – My open letter to her. A young woman writes an open letter to the child she is about to abort and posts it online. I want to start by saying that I am skeptical of this being a sincere post. I am actually praying that it is not. It seems to me that one of the biggest strategies of the pro-abortion movement is to de-stigmatize abortion: to make it a simple, no-big-deal action like clipping your nails. All...

WASHINGTON, DC -- U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, today sent the following letter to the Internal Revenue Service regarding its decision to audit Breitbart News Network, LLC. The full text of the letter is available here. Dear Commissioner Koskinen: I write to express deep concern over the recent announcement by Breitbart News that the Internal Revenue Service recently notified the Breitbart News Network, LLC that it would be subject to a far-reaching, burdensome, and open-ended audit. As you know, the Breitbart News Network LLC is a conservative-leaning press outlet. It has editors and reporters who cover daily political news and...
