BETHLEHEM, Pa. - The former Lehigh University student accused of threatening to come to campus and shoot a group of students is now in custody. Muhammad Diop, 20, was taken into custody in New York City without incident, university police said Wednesday. He is facing terroristic threats and harassment charges.

Lehigh University is cracking down on students and groups throwing parties amid a coronavirus outbreak on its South Bethlehem campus. There are 379 active coronavirus cases among Lehigh students and more than 600 in quarantine. The university’s test positivity rate jumped to 8% last week, prompting Lehigh to urge student caution last Friday. Yet, some students did not heed that message. A Pennsylvania university is promoting the concept of men cuddling as a way to help them deal with stress and "redefine masculinity." Dr. Christopher Liang, a counseling psychology professor at Lehigh University’s College of Education, recently came out in support of a Philadelphia area “Men‘s Therapeutic Cuddle Group,” a function advertised by Lehigh University in a news release. The Meetup.com page for the group currently has 69 members and the group has held 46 events so far. The meetups are held once every other week.
