A former Lehigh University student from China who was already facing ethnic intimidation charges against a black dormitory roommate is now accused of attempted homicide by trying to slowly poison him.

For a chemistry major, this guy's not very bright, from a big picture standpoint. The ethnic intimidation thing could get him a good many more years in prison. And the weird thing is, he'll probably end up getting permanent residency at the end of his sentence, given that China's one of the couple of dozen countries that refuses to take back felons that have served time stateside.

It doesn't make the news that much, but for a while there roommate murders, maybe one every other year or so, at Ivy League schools, and the alleged perps were primarily Third-Worlders.

The last one I remember was at Harvard, among females.

Now that I think about it, the other one that sticks in my mind was about 10 years ago or so, at Bowie State College, MD (HBCU). That teacher-in-space got her masters there, and they named a dorm after her, which happened to be the crime scene.

AFAIR, I think the [American] perp was a transfer from GA, where she had had problems in school down there.
