Lee Rodgers, Rest in Peace Written by Melanie Morgan I really don't want to write about this, I don't want to think about this, and I don't want it to be true. Lee Rodgers, friend and mentor, is dead. I owe everything that I have in my professional life to Lee Rodgers, who took me under his wing back in 1988 in the halycon days of KGO Radio. Lee was a nighttime talk show host, a former rock and roll DJ, hired by my husband Jack Swanson. He hired him twice, in fact. "Lee Rodgers was a real radio guy....

In November of 2010 in Don’t be VAT stupid Herman Cain writes: ``A national retail sales tax on top of all the confusing and unfair taxes we have today is insane! It gives the out-of-control bureaucrats and politicians in denial one more tool to lie, deceive, manipulate and destroy this country.`` The fact is, Herman is now proposing a new tax, a national retail sales tax, in addition to taxing corporate profits and incomes, and also would tax the wages working people earn. Herman Cain essentially admitted in the above mentioned article his existing plan is ``insane!`` So, why do...

Former KSFO morning host Lee Rodgers has never endorsed a candidate for Senate before. But the conservative thinks OC Assemblyman Chuck DeVore is the man for him in the US Senate race. At least that's what it sort of sounds like in his blog. The only thing that would be better for DeVore is if Uncle Lee lived in California and could cast a ballot; he's camped out in Arizona. "Carly Fiorina has a background in the big-time corporate world and a bulging campaign war-chest. Chuck DeVore brings a record of principled conservatism in the state legislature. "Has the prototype...

In a shocking letter to his disgruntled fans, KSFO (560-AM) radio host Lee Rodgers told them he was fired from the station but probably would have quit anyway, because Citadel, owned by Farid Suleman, had pushed him toward making positive statements about Muslims.

Veteran KSFO morning personality, Lee Rodgers, has been let go at the Citadel-owned, right-wing talk station, it has now been confirmed. Weeknight host, Brian Sussman will replace Rodgers. KSFO is the sister station of KGO radio. Attempts to reach station management were unsuccessful. On KSFO's web site, Rodgers is not listed on its weekday schedule, and an independent source close to the station, told me, via e-mail, that Rodgers "was out." It is not known why Rodgers was 'shown the door, although his hefty financial contract may have contributed to the sudden decision. His ex co-host, Melanie Morgan, left the...

As you know, last week ABC executives removed me from the airwaves of KSFO 560 AM and the "Lee Rodgers & Melanie Morgan Show". I was deeply disappointed that despite the fact that our show was one of the highest rated morning programs in the Bay Area (one of the largest radio markets in the nation) that these ABC executives would act in such a manner. I cannot help but think they decided to punish me for my continued conservative activism. ABC also owns a liberal radio news/talk station in the San Francisco market and I find it hard to...

KSFO Talk Show host Lee Rodgers suffered heart attack (will return soon) Lee Rodgers and Melanie Morgan KSFO (560AM - San Francisco) conservative talk show host Lee Rodgers had suffered a mild heart attack last Tuesday. Co-host Melanie Morgan mentioned the news on this morning's show. Brian Sussman has been filling in for Rodgers during his absense. Good news is that Rodgers is reported to return to the airwaves Tuesday. http://www.ksfo560.com/showdj.asp?djid=2254 "I represent the spirit of free enterprise. I'm a no-holds-barred capitalist," says Lee Rodgers in his characteristically brash, up front style. Known as the "open-line king" during the 10...

When the host on your local radio station tells you about the weather or traffic, there's a good chance that not only is he not in the radio studio, he may not even be in the state.

A trend that started with large corporations saving money by having music disc jockeys tape shows for several markets, it now includes ``local'' talk show hosts, people who traditionally gave radio its local flavor.

Does anyone know what happened to Lee Rodgers this morning on KSFO? He was in the middle of asking Jed Babbin a question then his mic went silent. He did not come back on the air the rest of the show. Melanie Morgan and Officer Vic (Tom Benner) continued on like the seasoned professionals they are, but I am concerned. I hope he's OK.
